"For bees, the flower is the fountain of life;

For flowers, the bee is the messenger of love."

Kahlil Gibran

Explored on 9/1/12

My work is loving the world.

Here the sunflowers, there the hummingbird—

equal seekers of sweetness.

Here the quickening yeast; there the blue plums.

Here the clam deep in the speckled sand.

Are my boots old? Is my coat torn?

Am I no longer young, and still not half-perfect? Let me

keep my mind on what matters,

which is my work,

which is mostly standing still and learning to be

astonished.

The phoebe, the delphinium.

The sheep in the pasture, and the pasture.

Which is mostly rejoicing, since all the ingredients are here,

which is gratitude, to be given a mind and a heart

and these body-clothes,

a mouth with which to give shouts of joy

to the moth and the wren, to the sleepy dug-up clam,

telling them all, over and over, how it is

that we live forever.

We have autumn break right now and I'm glad I could take the time to create something new. It may not look like this, but this picture is something very personal for me, because often I am faced with fears of what the future will bring - school, work, life…etc. most of the time I simply try to run away, but every now and then it happens that I have to face them...

Well this is life…have a great week!! :)

The day before yesterday I went to plum garden where all the pretty flowers are welcoming spring! Though it's still pretty cold here but the spring can be felt in the air. Hope all of you are enjoying early spring days as well!

Wish you a happy weekend! :)

Ghost of Tsushima

The Golden Ghost and a Sacred Messenger

A wee bit of "macro astrophotography" to capture a photo of the oldest thing I'll ever hold!

Image shows the chondrules and calcium-aluminium inclusions within a carbonaceous chondrite meteorite slice. This meteorite was found in North West Africa (NWA7942) and its formation pre-dates our Earth, originating from the processes that brought material together in the early solar nebula.

Meteorites are often referred to as "messengers from space" as through their fiery arrival on Earth they deliver information from beyond our planet on conditions in other parts of our solar system, allowing us to develop scientific theories on how it formed and evolved.

Was truly honored when Rudi of R&D Dolls approached me to do an OOAK DG Susie for the Annual IFDC Charity Auction, and of course I wouldn’t miss it for the world. If I can’t be there to attend, at least my hand made will be there. (Yay!) So here she is, with a story I authored just to create her character, I present to you Equa (I did mention her when I posted my OOAK horse Kleah www.flickr.com/photos/becholo/5746042864/in/photostream and info regarding the other OOAK Susies up for auction are on this link rnddolls.blogspot.com/2011/06/ifdc-2011.htmlThanks Rudi! 

The Story

Equa is the daughter of Kleah (klee-yuh) a mythical unicorn, favored by the gods and goddesses of the heavens to take them wherever they want. Clad with the golden armor hooves, gift from the highest god, Bathala, she is as swift as the wind... but she fell in love with Gold Keeper Ourum (Ow-room), the creator of the Golden Stairs to the heavens... and they bear a child, Equa , The Messenger, they gods fondly call her... and this child is the catalyst why man's prayers were first heard by the gods by listening to man, praying at the footsteps of the Sierra Reyna mountains, mystically writes every prayer on her sacred scrolls, and ascend to the heavens using the Golden Stairs that her father crafted, and only her golden hooves can cling to the smoothen gold finish of the stairs… and then there, Equa narrates all the prayers of man… maintaining the new relationship of man and gods with her diligence and dedication to her purpose.

(Doll includes scrolls, golden back pack, detachable tail and unicorn horn, and the hoof shoes… Kleah the horse not included)

Story thus far: Nozomi, a painfully shy girl, asked her friend Izumi to deliver Valentine to Touma for her.

- - - - -

Izumi approached Touma with Nozomi's valentine card. Touma, having some Valentine's Day baggage of his own, handled the sight of a tall, pretty girl approaching him with an heart-emblazoned envelope like the inexperienced teenage boy he was... he freaked out.

Story continues here.

At the end of the sultry day, something took shape and form just upon the Santa Cristina Sanctuary placed on the foreground's rocky peak. Do you believe?

I just finished making this minifee sized boho style messenger bag.

Was great fun :))

"Since Iris is the Greek goddess for the Messenger of Love, her sacred flower is considered the symbol of communication and messages. Greek men would often plant an iris on the graves of their beloved women as a tribute to the goddess Iris, whose duty it was to take the souls of women to the Elysian fields" (Hana No Monogatari: The Stories of Flowers)

Ok, it's not Christmas already. But I wanted to share this one with you to reciprocate the affection you've demonstrated to Sara and me with words and thoughts.

She's a little bit better, but bad weather doesn't help and honestly just a miracle could make her trot (or just properly walk) again. And she's much more devoted than ever - I suppose she knows "This world has only one sweet moment set aside for us" (yes Frances! Queen again, "Who wants to live forever").

But no more sadness: what I want to share, now, is a moment of joy. And Ribes is the perfect messenger!

Thank you again for your support, my friends. And thank you in advance for visits.

A peculiar look in the garden.

i took this in 1986 using tri-x film, i didn't notice the two figures until yesterday when i scanned these negs and played with the curves.

Today, the first clouds in weeks covered the sun for a bit and temperatures dropped below 30 centigrade - is this finally the end of summer in D.C.? We shall see.
