In Hindu mythology, the monkey appears in the form of Hanuman, the Monkey God. This heroic figure is believed to be the reincarnation of Shiva, part of the Hindu holy trinity. He is in perpetual pursuit of fairness and justice, and is fearless in taking on evil.

In Buddhism, there is the story of the monkey who accompanied a monk tasked with bringing sacred Buddhist texts from India to China. The monkey was chosen among all animals because of its intelligence and courage, making it the perfect companion for the monk when he is spiritually vulnerable.

On the other hand, the Mayan pantheon hails the monkey as a patron of the arts, as well as a messenger that brings prophecies and knowledge. The Aztec tradition gives the monkey a central focus in associating it with the sun.

Cut-paper collage postcard made for swap-bot Creative Collage: Bit of Yellow. (If that sign looks more orange than yellow to you, the fault is with my scanner, which never gets colors right. I assure you it's a nice mustard yellow in person.)

This collage needs a story. I'm afraid I'm no good at making up stories. All I can tell you is the messenger is the focus, and that's asemic writing on the sign he's holding.

Wandering around, Messenger entered a cave where a blob-like creature was resting. The creature tried to scare it off, worried to kill it with her aura, but the Doll interpreted it wrong and played around with her. Finally, a telepathic order telling it to leave and see the world worked, and the Doll left... Returning at the next day to show her what it saw and heard. The Doll started to do it day after day, and the creature's last days turned from grey into a more warm color.
