Many passers-by claim that on this coastal road they saw a mermaid , following the fishing boats and ask..
_ "When did King Alexander die"?
It seems that mythology has changed and we did not hear about it... You , for good and evil , do not look back ... There are many other original fairy tales .. for you

MERMAID SCULPTURE ( by Cornelia Parker ) -- FOLKESTONE BEACH , ENGLAND
Bronze on a granite boulder Dimensions: Height 155cm; width 172cm; depth 110cm
A reinterpretation of one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world, Copenhagen's 'Little Mermaid', and as a means of engaging with Folkestone's local community and with the reality of the female form. Inspired by the story of The Sea Lady by HG Wells (a long-time resident of Folkestone) and the famous fairy-tale of Hans Christian Anderson (who visited Folkestone in 1857), Parker developed the concept for the work in 2009 during the Copenhagen Climate Conference.
The Mermaid's gaze over the horizon is also an allusion to the rising sea levels and endangered populations living by the sea. The work takes the form of a life size bronze cast of a local resident. Folkestone residents were invited to model for the Mermaid and through a process of open submission Parker shortlisted six potentials, with an aim not to find a look-alike of the idealised Copenhagen Mermaid, but ... a real person, a free spirit. The sculpture overlooking the beach , next to Folkestone's harbour, was a local mother of two.
It is an inspiring and superb sculpture.

Mermaid Street, Rye, looking rather bleak on this wet and windy January afternoon.
The overnight rain might have stopped (at least for some of the day), but the low cloud, mist and fog didn’t go, so we decided just to go into Rye and mooch around. First of all, coffee at The Apothecary (Haydens, our favourite, was shut for refurbishment – shock, horror!). Then we shopped in the delicatessen, the butchers, the chemist, the book shop, the other deli, and the greengrocers – we LOVE shopping in Rye, because it’s still possible to shop for a meal in individual shops without having to go to the supermarket.

It's a cloudy afternoon, with the graceful arc made by ferry in the background, people taken photos in front of The Little Mermaid in Copenhagen, which is city's major attraction for tourist.
looking down Red Brook with the Mermaid's Pool catching the light.
According to legend, the pool is inhabited by a beautiful mermaid who can be seen if you look into the water at sunrise on Easter Sunday. If she looks upon you fondly then she will grant you the gift of immortality.
Locals have long known that Black’s Beach is the location where the tops come off. But until now they have never known why. Observations on this excursion have concluded the reason Mermaids choose this spot is the kelp. Macrocystis contains algin. Only recently have humans discovered this. Now, kelp byproducts are found in soap, toothpaste, hand creams etc. For centuries the Mermaids have known the regenerating power of the kelp and thus selected this beach with its huge offshore Macrocystis forest as a place to molt and regenerate. Tomorrow the regeneration process.
Brigette borrowed the mermaid outfit from the Little Mermaid, Ariel. 💚💙

Did I mention there would be other mermaids in Twig the Fairy mermaid book?
Say hello to Christine the mermaid!
I took this underwater mermaid portrait of Christine just as she turned for the new Twig the Fairy book using a Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera inside an AquaTech DC-5V2 Sport Housing.

I did a mermaid challenge with baby girl, and this one was mine. I kind of think it looks like a 5 year old's drawing, but whatever.
I was watching this
that I found absolutely gorgeous and decided to take some pictures of the ladies.
...and then threw herself from the ship into the sea, and thought her body was dissolving into foam.
