This is a merge of two shots taken four days apart back in 2014. It wasn't something I planned, just happened to notice the shots were very similar so was able to bring them together.
Fighting hard here to get a steady foothold on the damp rocks but with light like this it’s easy to put one’s heart at ease. Antics of Camp de Mar to the rescue again.
in the group's outdoor of the past weekend (May 2nd-3rd , 2009) we've chosen Santa Cruz to "make" the evening. Once again, it is curious to see how many people in the same place at the same time see / interpret things in different ways but always getting a pretty sight.
our group that evening:
for all of them, thank you for the wonderful Saturday!

This is not the panorama I had envisaged in my mind. But it's been a while since I last stopped off here and i had forgotten that the soldiers don't face exactly where I thought. I suppose it was Guy Martin's Channel 4, Arctic Warriors, programme this week that made me think of going to the Commando Memorial while my wife got her hair done.
I did want the panorama to only have the commandos in shot against a panorama of snow covered mountains. I extended my tripod to full height and clipped my D750 to the top set on self timer (20 seconds, and with rear preview screen set facing downwards. Pressing the shutter button, I hoisted the tripod so that just the bottom of the legs were in my hands and then reached my arms above my head so that the camera ended up about 11-12 feet above the ground. Peering up I tried to aim the camera whilst using the level guide on the screen. Whilst my hands froze I got my shots, but as of yet I haven't untangled the miriad of shots and merged them together successfully. In the meantime you get the ordinary perspective, albeit in a panoramic format.
This is Sunset Lake in Black Sand Basin. I decide to shoot 3 photos and merge them together. This is the result.
I did it handheld, so it would have been better with a tripod. Thought I would share it.
Another bird that was relatively close to my canoe on Lake Louisa. Below what I already posted just after the merganser, a juvenile loon…

A triple-storey terrace that merges into a single high double-storey shophouse, then into a lower double-storey terrace.
USAGE
These terraces feature businesses on the ground floor with the family residence upper floors. The middle yellow shophouse has obviously got a tattoo parlour upstairs.
HISTORY
These terraces are mostly inhabited by descendents of those who migrated from Southern China and became known as Baba (male) and Nonya (female). The Nonya culture retains most of their ethnic and religious origins (such as ancestor worship), but with many assimilations from the Malays such as language, food, clothing, and customs.
ARCHITECTURE
Google informs me that the architecture is 19th Century Anglo-Chinese shophouse, View of similar to those in Southern China.
Back in the fall I meant to stop by this bit of the Wisconsin, but never did. The other day after some fresh snow I did and the reflection was pretty great. It isn't often so windless.
I took this picture from way over on the left at Inspiration Point. If you look carefully you will notice the limited mist from the featured Middle Falls merging with the always-wide mist from the Upper Falls which can't be seen in this picture.

I was really enjoying photographing lightning the other day until it started striking a little too close for comfort! I took a three shot bracket and at the end of a 10 second exposure the camera captured a nice streak. Instead of merging all three to HDR, I used this shot with the lightning and another underexposed shot and combined the best of both in photoshop using masks. Then I did some tweaking to the colors.
there is a magical place where the intense blue of the sea merges with the black sand of its beaches, these islands on the Atlantic Ocean will make you fall in love for its light and its beauty.
