Shops in a street underpass. I wonder how they survive even though people are forced to use the underpass as deliberately there are no traffic lights on the street above.
The Columbia River's westward march toward the Pacific Ocean divides the border between the states of both Washington and Oregon as it slices through the heart of the Cascade Range, creating a natural passageway through the mountains known simply as the Columbia River Gorge. Straight line winds move swiftly through the valley below, agitating the waters with swirling whitecaps as a trio of orange "Pumpkins" make an appearance amongst the vastness of seemingly otherwise infinity. Here, 8000 feet of mixed merchandise traffic from the bustling ports at Sea-Tac stretch the drawbars behind BNSF SD70ACe #8457 and company as they have their H AUBPAS3 27A rolling eastbound at speed out of Tunnel 10 and across the Lake Chamberlain Causeway on the approach to Lyle, WA. Packed in, and through, amongst the solid basalt cliff walls and beside the banks of an adjacent Columbia River, this is one such location where trains can briefly escape a tight landscape profile the tracks of the Fallbridge Subdivision must follow to make passage through the Gorge's unique, and very scenic, topography. Today's lengthy, 125-car freight enjoys a brief moment to itself out on the open water as it disturbs a local population of loitering turkey vultures, chasing the quickly rising morning sunlight heading toward their terminus at Pasco.
The window, the merchandise, the ad, the shop, it all works in a mysterious way to open the pocketbook for a moment of weakness, acting on the single glimpse.

There are two Disney Store Limited Edition Brave items that were first noticed on the US Disney Store website on May 14, 2012, but were not part of the new arrivals group. In fact, when they were first noticed (by browsing on keyword 'brave') they were both already sold out. By next day, they were already not searchable by keyword (but the pages were still viewable via a direct link or product code). I wonder whether these were actually for sale at some earlier date, or are merely placeholders for a future release.

Merida is posing alone, in her formal teal (light blue-green) dress with gold trim and gold sash. She is carrying a bow and arrow set. I found this doll's shoulder joints rather stiff.
Angus and Merida have been fully deboxed.
My first look at the 2 piece Brave Angus and Merida Doll Set. It was released by the Disney Store on Monday May 14, 2012 online and in stores, along with many other Brave merchandise. It's cost is $39.50 US.
The set consists of the Princess Merida, who is a fully poseable 11.5'' doll in her blue formal dress, carrying a bow and arrow, and her faithful companion Angus, a 12.5'' tall black plush horse doll. Angus is 13.5'' to the top of his ears and is 15'' long. He has white hair on his nose and hooves, and neighs for a few seconds when his nose is pressed.
First I photographed the set in the unopened box. Then with the dolls taken out of the box, but still attached to the inner cardboard backing, which slides out of the box like a tray. Finally, the dolls were fully deboxed, and posed separately and together.
I stumbled upon an illustration I created well over seven years ago. This concept was one of many presented to a local radio station.

The clouds were not cooperating when Norfolk Southern heritage units met at NS Rossville Yard in West Tennessee. Central of Georgia NS 8101 leads NS 23N into the yard. Illinois Terminal NS 1072 and Monongahela NS 8025 are on point for NS 202 that will depart later in the evening.
