In a manner of speaking
Semantics won't do
In this life that we live
We only make do
And the way that we feel
Might have to be sacrificed... Nouvelle Vague
Just returned from a visit to the Maasai Mara where I had the privilege to photograph Tira the rare spotted Zebra foal.He was named Tira after the guide who originally found him( Anthony Tira). This is a very rare occurrence and is the first recorded in the Mara.As I left there are reports that Tira has gone missing with speculation around the manner of his disappearance.
This Male Baltimore Oriole is thoroughly enjoying his grape jelly. I just love watching them eat it - some go about it in a calm, dainty manner while others look like they are shoveling it in as fast as they can. Since their arrival on May 8th, they have already eaten three 32 oz. jars of it!
wenn ich in meinem Minigarten, sprich Balkon, sitze ist die Kamera immer schussbereit...

I'm staring at these sudden waterfalls
Tears that don't make sense to me at all
This life's what happens when you're making plans
Don't know what happens next or where I stand
Wanna live this wild life wild every day, woo
Wanna say the things people never say, woo-ooh
I'll take all the love and all the pain, eh
Wanna live this wild life wild today, oh
Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Give me all your love and all your pain
Gon' live this wild life wild today, oh
I'm staring at these faded signs ahead
But all these turns just fill me up with dread
But life's what happens when you're making plans, woo
Dive or step right in but please don't stand, oh
Wanna live this wild life wild every day, woo
Wanna say the things people never say, woo-ooh
I'll take all the love and all the pain, eh
Wanna live this wild life wild today, oh
Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Give me all your love and all your pain
Gon' live this wild life wild today, oh

Dr Dog _ The Breeze
www.youtube.com/watch?v=atV-wZrBDkw
Are you moving much too fast?
And the good times that just don't last
If you're always on the go
Make an angel in the snow
And freeze
Do you feel like you're stuck in time?
Forever waiting on that line
If nothing ever moves
Put that needle to the groove
And sing
Is it a dream keeping you awake?
Is it the stillness that makes you shake?
If you need to know for sure
What's on the ocean's floor
You'll sink
Do you like things the way they seem?
Or are you looking behind the scenes?
Well, if you've gotta know
What it takes to make it sow
Just believe
Are there dark parts to your mind?
Hidden secrets left behind?
Where no one ever goes
But everybody knows
It's all right
Do you get dizzy on the ground?
It must be something going 'round
What blows us here today
It'll blow us all away,
The breeze
Ahh, will blow us all away
The breeze
Ahh, will blow us all away
The breeze

Yeah, oh, uh
All the worries, worries
I'm gonna leave them behind
Leave 'em in the city, city, uh
Leave 'em on somebody else's mind
Gonna get up, get out, yeah
I'm gonna jump on a plane
Leave my troubles all a million miles away
Well, you can live your life
Stuck at a traffic light
Walking down crowded streets I'll be
I'll be seaside
Sitting on the sand drinking a mai tai
Waking up and soaking up the sunlight
Sunlight
I'll be seaside
Watching all the seagulls flying so high
Looking at our future looking so bright
So bright
I'll be seaside (woah-oh-oh)
I'll be seaside (woah-oh-oh)
If you're looking for me
I'll be busy, be busy, nah
Busy doing nothing all day
Y bailando con toda mi gente
Veo que no me dejas de ver
Mientras la música suene
Aquí pegaditos al mar
No me pienso mover a otro lugar (na, na, no, no)
Well, you can live your life
Stuck at a traffic light
Walking down crowded streets
We'll be
We'll be seaside
Sitting on the sand driking a mai tai
Waking up and soaking up the sunlight
Sunlight
We'll be seaside watching seagulls flying so high
Looking at our future looking so bright
So bright
I'll be seaside (woah-oh-oh)
I'll be seaside (woah-oh-oh)
If you're looking for me
I'll be seaside
Sitting on the sand drinking a mai tai
Waking up and soaking up the sunlight
Sunlight (sunlight, sunlight)
I'll be seaside
Watching all the seagulls flying so high
Looking at our future looking so bright
So bright
I'll be seaside (woah-oh-oh)
I'll be seaside (woah-oh-oh)
If you're looking for me
I'll be seaside (woah-oh-oh)
I'll be seaside (woah-oh-oh)
If you're looking for me
I'll be seaside

This is a capture of a Great Egret with mating plumage. Great egrets develop long, ornamental plumes on the back during the breeding season and spread them (in a fan-shaped manner) like peacocks during the courtship. They are just incredible to see during this period.
Blondie - Call Me (Alon Cohen Remix)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i-MB41MTwk
Colour me your colour, baby
Colour me your car
Colour me your colour, darling
I know who you are
Come up off your colour chart
I know where you're comin' from
Call me (call me) on the line
Call me, call me any, anytime
Call me (call me) my love
You can call me any day or night
Call me
Cover me with kisses, baby
Cover me with love
Roll me in designer sheets
I'll never get enough
Emotions come, I don't know why
Cover up love's alibi
Call me (call me) on the line
Call me, call me any, anytime
Call me (call me) oh my love
When you're ready we can share the wine
Call me
Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo, he speaks the languages of love
Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo, amore, chiamami, chiamami
Ooo-oo-oo-oo-oo, appelle-moi mon cherie, appelle-moi
Anytime, anyplace, anywhere, any way
Anytime, anyplace, anywhere, any day-ay
Call me (call me) my love
Call me, call me any, anytime
Call me (call me) for a ride
Call me, call me for some overtime
Call me (call me) my love
Call me, call me in a sweet design
Call me (call me), call me for your lover's lover's alibi
Call me (call me) on the line
Call me, call me any, anytime
Call me (call me)
Oh, call me, oo-hoo-hah
Call me (call me) my love
Call me, call me any, anytime

Late day light filtering through the clouds from the west bathes the land ... while stormy skies in the east bear down in a threatening manner ... it would soon be pouring down.

The top of an Etruscan cinerary urn, showing the deceased man reclining comfortably in a banquet-style manner, leaning on some cushions. His torso is bare, but he is wearing a wreath. The round thing he is holding is a libation bowl.
The urn is made of alabaster, comes from Chiusi, Italy, and dates to the second century B.C. The name of the man is written on the lower part of the urn. On display at British Museum. (Calling this an urn can sometimes give people the wrong impression - it is a vessel meant to keep the ashes of the deceased, but it is much, much, much bigger than a modern funerary urn. The measures for this one (including the bottom part) is: height ca 105 cm, length 85 cm, and width a little over 40 cm.)
This is a recent photo that I will never be able to take again, as the Central Park Conservancy in its great wisdom has cut down this and the sole neighboring tree. Swallows used to perch here after their furiously fast flight. The Swallows and I will have to find another tree… At the Harlem Meer, Central Park, New York.
The Heddal Stave church (www.flickr.com/photos/115540984@N02/30679417426/) is one of the biggest stav churches in Norway, and dates back from the 13th century. It has been restorated several times, and not always in the correct manner. But this sanctuary part is IMO quite nice, and in a way gives you the feeling stepping back in time! It was the first time I had to use an ISO setting of 2500. Normally I would never do that, because it is not the strongest point of Sony camera's. But I had no choice, it was almost dark inside and I didn't bring my tripod with me.
With some help of Lightroom and different denoise filters I was able to come up with this. It could have been worse.
Lovely valleys, bare mountains and cold winds, snow packs, glaciers, beautiful lakes, and then there are the enchanting fjords that never stop to amaze. The most beautiful country of Europe, for me no doubt about that, with only one minor aspect, which is the weather. During my month of traveling I only had 4 really nice days, the rest of the time clouds, rain, and very changeable! Still no regret, and I will go back to make even more than the 3500 pictures that I took this time.
Another very active vacation that took me to the south west up to Trondheim in a sort of triangle between Oslo- Trondheim and Bergen with the whole route visible here (www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153668247101759&set...).
