Chain mail bikinis are not historic. They are farsical and the invention of 1970s sword and sorcery art for Conan the Barbarian and Red Sonja. The wire bikini worn by Princess Leiah in Return of the Jedi cemented them into popular culture and they are a mainstay at renaissance festivals now. Unfortunately they usually look ridiculous on the women who wear them.

However, this young lady would certainly be the exception. I think she stepped out of a Boris Vallejo painting or something. Karela the Red Hawk perhaps?

now, the phone thingy obviously did not work out for odd, so the next thing he thought of was the royal mail. he really liked the bright red of those boxes too. he wanted to send his mommy a letter, and for inspiration he said, he wanted to read the other letters in the box. i told him he couldn't do that, then i told him to at least be careful, but of course he wouldn't listen and got himself stuck - again!

Must've driven past this a thousand times the past few years and never had the time to stop and shoot. Finally managed it today, no camera but at least I had my phone!

Anyhow, happy Christmas and New Year to you all. I'm not back as I'm not feeling inspired right now...just don't know what I want to shoot: apart from Mail Pouch barns, that is! :-)

Located near the Westmoreland/Somerset County Line a Mail Pouch Barn sits among beautiful landscape. An added bonus with an old Deere Tractor on the building, can you spot it?

So I found a whole bunch of old letters from back in the day. I used to LOVE getting MAIL.. it made me feel special hahaha. Back when stamps were 33 cents?

.........hmmm, it looks like i forgot to put this in the group pool. it was in my album. Hope this doesn't mess things up.

Didn't plan going out specifically to see this yesterday, just popped down the the footbridge at Easenhall and it came along, travelling fairly slowly. This is on the WCML between Rugby and Nuneaton. This working was 105Q Willesden Prdc to Shieldmuir Mail Terminal.

The image is from an old Chinese children's text book found at an estate sale. The illustrations are just charming.
