I had a friend recently buy the "it's better to have loved and lost" magnet.... then took the ex back two days later. I think I should sneak in the house and replace it with one that says "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results."

The ever growing collection of pictures of ribbon magnets in the wild. Most interesting (to me at least) is the staff supporting our students. With the military background of the ribbon symbol one has to wonder exactly what this means to them. Are they saying their school is a warzone ? (I somehow doubt it.) One of the frustrating things about his is that I get so little interaction with the owners to understand what it means to them. So: I am starting to work on some alternative strategies.
...having too little magnets sucks...
This just shows what you can do with the small sphere.
This photo has earned me my TENTH free set of Zen freaking Magnets. So huzzahs all around.

Here is Greg with some magnet things that he is throwing up in the air. When you do that they stick to each other and make a noise you see.
Each magnet is an original pencil illustration and painted with acrylic paint. Non-toxic coating gives a nice shiny raised surface. A large strong magnet is fixed onto the back with industrial glue.
Original little works of art that are fun AND functional. Durable and unique. Perfect for gift giving or for keeps!
Each magnet measures 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) across.

All 216 magnets shown. First completely detach the inner hex from inside wall because prior photo was just a polarity check and not related to the correct connections. Then, while holding the inner hex floating in the center, pull a string from each inner wall close to the inner hex endpoint until the string attaches. Work your way around the circle.
The first spiral designs I made were a very elaborate process of adding spiral strings to hex layers and then pulling out parts. Finally it dawned on me that I could just hold a smaller hex inside a frame and just pull the spirals into the center. Much easier.
For variations you can try a 6 hex ring in the center or change the frame size.
This is a quick attempt at making a panographic photo of the theater's lobby. I may try and go back and make a better one.
Just to play with I bought some rare earth magnets from a Chinese company. They were so cheap as to be essentially free but they are so strong to be almost unbelievable.
This is a stack of three different sizes. If I try to take even the small diameter magnets and try to pull them apart, I can't. Really! And I'm pretty strong. And the large ones? Forget it!
