A number of ex-Magicbus Tridents have made their way south in recent months to see off the remaining Olympians, however their use will be short lived as they are not DDA complaint so will not survive beyond the end of December 2016. This explains why they have not been repainted into fleet livery.

Former Stagecoach / Magic Bus 13030 is carefully manoeuvred out of the holding lot for the short journey to the breaking area at PVS's recycling yard at Carlton, S Yorks.

The Northern Counties bodied Leyland Olympian had started life in July 1984 with Greater Manchester PTE. Numbered 3030, the bus was later acquired by Stagecoach, finishing its service days on Stagecoach's Magic Bus operation in Manchester prior to its withdrawal in c2005.

The bus had been initially been saved for posterity by the SELNEC Preservation Society, who were amassing a large number of ex Manchester buses.

Along with other SELNEC PS vehicles, 3030 was stored in open-air premises at Oakenshaw. Sadly, these buses eventually attracted the wrong kind of attention, and a number of buses were vandalised. 3030 lost most of its windows as a consequence, allowing water ingress.

When SELNEC PS founder Anthony Wyer tragically passed away in 2017, much of the SELNEC PS fleet was disposed of. With mounting storage costs, and little prospect of 3030 finding a new home, the scrap man became its next owner, 3030 meeting its fait accompli in July 2017.

Twenty-five brand new Enviro 400 MMC vehicles will enter traffic at Folkestone and Hastings on the Wave group of routes on Sunday 4th December prompting a carefully orchestrated cascade the same weekend will allow the withdrawal of all non-DDA fleet members meaning the end of the use of the former Manchester Magicbus Tridents.

Thank you for the support my friends

Every day I get in the queue

To get on the bus that takes me to you

I'm so nervous, I just sit and smile

Your house is only another mile

Thank you, driver, for getting me here

You've been inspected, have no fear

I don't want to cause no fuss

But can I buy your Magic Bus?

Bus Jack is a former Air BNB and an art installation in Terlingua Ranch in the Chihuahuan Desert of West Texas. The rare patrons could choose between sleeping in a makeshift bed in a derelict VW bus or primitive camping, either one at a price of $20 a night. This bus is one of nine VW buses in a circle on a butte in the desert. Take your pick... no bath, no toilet, with a twin size piece of foam covered with an old sheet in the back of some of the vans . When I first photographed the place six years ago, it was still listed as an Airbnb, but since then it has been vandalized and de-listed. I took these new photos in May, 2024.

Believed to be on loan to Stagecoach South Aldershot depot as cover until the re-opening of the Farnham-Alton railway line, this plain blue Alexander-bodied Volvo Olympian is seen passing through Pinewood Park in Farnborough, operating the 402 All Hallows schools service on May 3rd 2016.

And be sure to check by my other acount: www.flickr.com/photos_user.gne?path=&nsid=77145939%40..., to see what else I saw very recently!!

Yes I'm back again.

However due to my main computer on which I edit my work being struck down with a big bad virus, this picture and all the others I am uploading, were Unedited but have now been replaced with Edited versions. So enjoy and Thanks for your patience and understanding.

I do still hate everything about this shit that is new Flickr and always will, but an inability to find another outlet for my work that is as easy for me to use as the Old BETTER Flickr was, has forced me back to Flickr, even though it goes against everything I believe in.

I don't generally have an opinion on my own work, I prefer to leave that to other people and so based on the positive responses to my work from the various friends I had made on Flickr prior to the changes I have decided to upload some more of my work as an experiment and to see what happens.

So make the most of me before they delete my acount: www.flickr.com/photos/69558134@N05/?details=1, to stop me complaining!!

Stagecoach Manchester Volvo Olympian / Northern Counties 16087 - R87 XNO calls at Fallowfield working a Sunday afternoon 143 service to West Didsbury.

A notorious incident indeed befell Stagecoach Manchester 13154 (B154 XNA), when she was shamelessly pinched from Hyde Road garage and promptly went missing for around three months. She finally turned up, painted yellow and minus seats, as a promo vehicle for a skip hire company in Salford, carrying a Northern Ireland plate, RAZ 3377.

Apparently it took a court challenge for ownership to be proved and she was eventually repatriated. This shot, I think, shows her after return to work as a Magic Bus. A peaked dome is carried that wasn't in place while she was "on the run", as it were.

A shot many people dont have is this of 15249 in full yellow Schoolbus livery. After being withdrawn from Magicbus services in Glasgow, 15247/9 were transferred down to Ayr for a recently gained School contract at the time. Both initially ran in full Magicbus livery but were latterly treated to full Schoolbus livery. IIRC They only lasted a year in this livery before being repainted, once again but for the first time into corporate livery as they were made redundant at Ayr. Ayr depot was once host to several double deckers in their fleet, now in 2011 this stands at just one Trident and 3 seasonal Titans/Olympians. 15247/9 reentered service at Cumnock Depot in August 2008, this to be their final allocation with Western. Both were withdrawn in summer 2010 as a result of several internal transfers. 15247 was lucky to have been sold on and currently resides with WJC Buses in Glasgow, 15249 was latterly not to be so succesful and was sold for scrap around the same time.

New to Kowloon Motor Bus 3BL135 (DH 9864) before been brought back to the UK by Stagecoach in 2005 and used on MagicBus services in Manchester as 13516.Seen here just left depot on a morning school run.
