Roland Griffith Keffer was born in 1892, attended Edgeley School, School Section #8, and became a farmer in Maple. After enlisting, he was stationed in France and served as a member of the 75th Battalion, a rifle company of the Royal Canadian Expeditionary Force, during World War I. Following the war, he continued farming and served as one of the Trustees for the Police Village of Maple.
