Academy 1/35 scale model.

The vehicle of 'those who save the lives of those who protect our lives'!

This photo was taken in 2013 during my previous Project 365…please visit my album for this “REMASTERED” Project 365 as I revisit each day of 2013 for additional photos to share!!

Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

"Real HEROES don't have a name on the back of their jersey. They have their country's flag (and sometimes a medical cross) on the arm of their uniform. Thank them for your FREEDOM!"

The M997 HMMWVs are the Ambulance configuration of the HMMWV family. The vehicles are equipped with basic armor and used to transport casualties from the battlefield to the medical aid stations.

The ambulance can be heated, ventilated, or air conditioned, depending on environmental conditions. For operation in an NBC environment, the M997 is equipped with a Gas- Particulate Filter Unit (GPFU) with heaters capable of supporting up to seven personnel equipped with either M25 series protective masks or M13 series patient protective masks. The GPFU forces temperature-controlled, filtered air to the mask facepieces, which increases protection, eases breathing, and reduces stress and heat fatigue during extended periods of NBC operation.

My Medivac Humvee..at 7 wide building the rear doors was a pain but i managed to achieve exactly what i wanted..will post a pic later on..the back and upper structures can be removed for access to figs and gear and for modding back to other versions with quick ease..this is the largest version of the Humvee ive built but still managed to keep the size down..fits both casualty and PA stretcher and two medics seated in the back and room for gear too

The M997, M997A1, and M997A2 HMMWVs were the Maxi-Ambulance configuration of the HMMWV family. The vehicles were equipped with basic armor and used to transport casualties from the battlefield to the medical aid stations. The M997 types were 4-litter ambulances with basic armor protection and air conditioning for crew and patients.

Same chassis as the other Humvees. Only room for one patient. I sloped off the front, as it looks better this way in my opinion.

The AM General M997A2 Ambulance can carry four litter or eight ambulatory patients. These vehicles provide mobility for emergency situations and a quick link between battlefield casualties and emergency services not readily available on the front lines of battle. This model of HMMWV is occasionally used in roles other than being an ambulance.

The Integrated Trailer-Environmental Control Unit (ECU), Generator (ITEG) is an integrated HMMWV towable unit that is designed to support highly mobile command and control systems and other forward deployed operations centers and activities that displace often and have limited access to external power sources. The generator produces 22kW of electrical power (maximum of 9 kW for external use) and can parallel with other GET units and the MEP-805B Tactical Quiet Generator. The ECU provides complete environmental air conditioning including cooling, heating, ventilation, and filtering and has a nominal cooling capacity of 120,000 BTU/hr and a nominal heating capacity of 47,000 BTU/hr. The integral trailer is based on the standard M1102 trailer chassis designed with high ground clearance and run flat tires.

This M997A2 belonging to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) was photographed shortly after disembarking from the USS Whidbey Island at the North Carolina State Port in Morehead City, North Carolina.
