So I built this yesterday, and today I see a fuckin' real one that belongs to a reenactment group.

Seen passing through Fleet on the M3 in January 2025.

I found myself taking selfies last night for a number of reasons. I was ready to use my Leica M3 again but remembered even after the recalibration that I had expected some out of focus images with it and with using the Leica Summicron 50 DR lens. The Leica Summicron 50 DR lens has given me perhaps some of my sharpest images on the M3 so I wanted to use the combo in harmony. I had no faith in the setup so wanted to test before taking on a trip. (I had mostly OOF images from Ukraine in the summer with this setup so didnt want to suffer twice!) That was before the M3 was recalibrated. I like the DR as I can focus much closer as shown here.

So aswell as testing the Leica kit I also wanted tto develop colour film in Xtol. I have developed Kodak BW400CN C41 B&W film in Xtol before so assumed it would work the same.

Works well :) I just developed it with a roll of 120 Tri-X as had space in the tank :)

In addition to my Humvees and M1078s, I will now have Bradleys to put in my upcoming military base. Im also working on a new military train to haul all of these military vehicles. I have been working on flatbed cars and a locomotive to haul them. I think this turned out very well and I purposely did this in approximately 1/46 scale just like the Humvee and M1078.

Another session on my local M3 bridge on the morning of Saturday 6th September 2025. In 4 hours, a total of 90 coaches passed me heading towards London (the light isn't right to snap southbound stuff) with the peak flow being between 09:00-11:00. There were 5 cruise ships that docked in Southampton early that morning which will have boosted the number of coaches.

Highlights from this visit include a Neoplan Tourliner in the Wheelers Travel trial livery; a brand new Tomorrows Travel ADL E400 MMC; a rather nice Southgate & Finchley Tourismo; the regular Newbury & District ADL E400 MMC; an Austrian-registered Beat the Street Van Hool; and a 2009 Volvo B12BT / Plaxton Panther 71-seater of Desi Coaches, Elstree. Busy coach days are just starting to fade now.

A new rig shot of my E46 M3. My only gripe with this photo is that the boom bounced a little more than I would have wanted it to, so the shot isn't as sharp as I hoped for. I think it's time to put together a cable support for situations like this.

I also need to get rid of my Sigma 10-20 so I can move up to a Nikon 16-35.

With nothing better to do I went to check the weeds on my favourite M3 motorway bridge and blimey all these coaches came past! A nice variety of makes and models in amongst the several thousand anonymous white Tourismos that I chose largely to ignore. And the Levante 3s too.

A few more from my M3 motorway bridge bash! Think I might do this again.

Oorlogsmuseum Overloon

One of friend of mine lent me a beautiful Leica M3 with Summicron 50mm F2.

Heathside Travel of Ferndown in Dorset sent their 2 month old Irizar i6s Y25HST to London today (18/08/2025). I was alerted to its return trip down the M3 past Farnborough by driver Nathan Singers so thanks go to him for the opportunity to tick another one off the list!

Also passing were demo Neoplan OY25ZHC (currently on loan to Heathside Travel), Lucketts BG22NTF, Excelsior BU74YVF and National Express BV72XFO.

M3 Stuart rebuild.

-One stud lower and shorter than the previous version.

-The front armor plate (with vision doors) is placed in a slight angle.

-This early production Stuart has an angular turret build. I'm not quite happy with it but it will do for now =).

-BrickArms M1919 Machine Gun.

I did not build the typical 'Honey' sand shields because of scale limitations.

Part credit use to Rumrunner for the use of the cheese slope and robot arm as idler suspension.
