We got interviewed by the Beyond the Brick. It's a bit long but you get to see the buildings close up.
Durrough features a fine harbor, extensive docks and shipbuilding facilities, wood mills, and a thriving fishing industry. Fishing fleets, warships and merchant ships create a flurry of activity every day in this busy city. For over two hundred years the city has seen a dramatic population increase, as work is always been plentiful. Trade tariffs on the export of wood have allowed taxes to be kept to a minimum for its citizens.
Adding to my album of photos with a Helios 40. I took these photos for a video review of the lens, which you can see here, if you are interested:
Arcing over the River Danube at the most Northern point of the capital, the Megyeri Bridge is the longest bridge of Budapest, and that of the whole River Danube. It is Hungary's first cable-stayed river bridge, part of the M0 highway around Budapest.
The new bridge was inaugurated on September 30, 2008.

The Megyeri Bridge, previously known as the Northern M0 Danube bridge, is a cable-stayed bridge that spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest, respectively the west and east sides of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. It is an important section of the M0 ringroad around Budapest.
The bridge cost 63 billion forints (approx. US$ 300M) to build and was officially opened on September 30, 2008;[1] however, the National Transport Authority of Hungary has only issued temporary permits because of disagreement among suburban cities surrounding the bridge.
An online naming poll to determine the new name of the recently built bridge caused controversy and received media attention when American comedians Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart won.
On September 14, 2006, András Simonyi—the ambassador of Hungary to the United States—announced on The Colbert Report that Stephen Colbert had won the vote. Unfortunately for Colbert, Ambassador Simonyi declared that under Hungarian law, Colbert would have to be fluent in Hungarian, and would have to be deceased in order to have the bridge named for him. However, after saying the rules could most likely be bent, he invited Colbert to visit Hungary and view the construction in person and gave him a Hungarian passport and a 10,000 HUF Bill, with an approximate value of, as the ambassador put it, 'fifty dollars, fifty good US dollars'. Colbert promptly tried to bribe him with said money.
Rádoby běžná fotka obyčejného vlaku... no, tak úplně běžná ne.

My famous last words
Are laying around in tatters
Sounding absurd
Whatever I try
But I love you
And that's all what really matters
If this is goodbye
If this is goodbye
Your bright shining sun
Would light up the way before me
You were the one
Made me feel I could fly
And I love you
Whatever is waiting for me
If this is goodbye
If this is goodbye
Who knows how long we've got
Or what we're made of
Who knows if there's a plan or not
There is our love
I know there is our love
My famous last words
Could never tell the story
Spinning unheard
In the dark of the sky
But I love you
And this is our glory
If this is goodbye
If this is goodbye
If this is goodbye
If this is goodbye
On a sunny Sunday, at the same time as this year's second Lake Balaton Retro Weekend, the lazy man's retro weekend was also taking place in/near Budapest.
The original service provider of the suburban railway lines (H5-9), BHÉV was celebrating its 134th birthday.
One of the attractions was the pair of Bzmots of MÁV-HÉV, painted in the unmistakable green-white HÉV livery. The two tiny rail-buses were running from Cinkota to Mogyoród through Csömör, on the rarely used, non-electrified line section, nicknamed Kavicsbányai vonal (Gravel mine line).
Back in the day when the HÉV trains were pulled by steam locomotives, this was the original routing of what nowadays is known as the H8 line, because the weak engines couldn't cope with the heavy incline on the straightforward section that exists today.
Don't forget to check out Flórián's pictures from this day as well!

on a side note, i started selecting some of my favorite shots I've been finding through the years, right here. and giving basic explanation as to why they stand out. gallery here:

Also check out Flórián's picture from ~10 minutes earlier, and a similar shot in the motorway-green box theme.
