A total lunar eclipse. An image of the blood moon. The moon is getting brighter on the left side. Local time: 9:36:17 PM.
Just a minute or so before totality. Unfortunately we had a layer of high clouds, giving us a thin filter of haze through which to view (and photograph) the event which grew worse as the evening progressed. This was the best I could do.
This is a photograph of a lunar eclipse (blood moon) as seen from Colorado Springs, Colorado on the morning of 4 April 2015.
These two shots were taken late last night of the wonderful Eclipse - it kind of made me feel very small and insignificant, I found it very moving and exciting to witness. Thank goodness for a cold, clear and rain free night!!

The conditions were not as favourable as I had hoped...
