Hand-held shot of the Lunar Eclipse, December 10, 2011, taken in Dongguan City, Guangdong, China. Skies were crystal clear, though with a strong, cold wind. During totality, fainter stars in Taurus (Hyades) and other constellations were easily visible. Quite spectacular, and glad I was able to catch it!

This was one of the shots from the total lunar eclipse taken in Bangalore in Dec 2011. It was a cloudy day in Bangalore but was fortunate to make some nice images when the clouds cleared..although I couldn't get a shot of the complete eclipse, this shot was just moments after the eclipse.. it was amazing to see so many stars in the background suddenly popping up during the eclipse.

Various shots of the lunar eclipse April 15 2014 "Blood Moon"

This image was how I had anticipated my final shot would be during this mornings Lunar Eclipse. How wrong I was!

Instead watching the moon set between the two mountains, the sun came up and chased the moon away.

This was the first time I'd watched a lunar eclipse, so the fact that the sun would outshine the moon in shadow hadn't occurred to me. Duh!

This is a composite of two images I took this morning, putting the moon at pretty much where it would have been at sunrise.
