Hand-held shot of the Lunar Eclipse, December 10, 2011, taken in Dongguan City, Guangdong, China. Skies were crystal clear, though with a strong, cold wind. During totality, fainter stars in Taurus (Hyades) and other constellations were easily visible. Quite spectacular, and glad I was able to catch it!
Maansverduistering op 3 / 4 maart 2007. Verder dan dit gaat de sigma 70-300 niet, en door de iso van 1600 aardig wat ruis, maar het blijft een mooi gezicht!
Almost looks like Mars :-)
2015 Family Photo Challenge 26
Back in April, we had a DAY when the moon utilized the Earth to avoid the BURST OF SUNSHINE. Much like I have been known to thank the clouds for blocking out the sun, I hope the moon thanked the Earth.
This is the 31 January 2018 total lunar eclipse, setting behind some trees, about 30 min after the end of totality.
Taken at the peak of the lunar eclipse. There is a slight shadow at the bottom of the moon. Not very distinct as it is better viewed from eastern asia.
Regretably I missed the "blood" part of the eclipse as I overslept! I maged to get a few shots before cloud intervened.
