Die ehemalige Stiftskirche St. Mauritius in Hildesheim ist eine katholische Pfarrkirche auf dem nach ihr benannten Moritzberg, 107 m über dem Meeresspiegel und anderthalb Kilometer westlich der Altstadt. Ihre Pfarrei gehört zum Dekanat Hildesheim des Bistums Hildesheim. Die 1058–1072 errichtete frühromanische Basilika ist ohne wesentliche äußere Veränderungen erhalten. Das Innere ist jedoch seit dem 18. Jahrhundert barockisiert.

Umgestülpter Zuckerhut...
Das Fachwerkgebäude zeichnet sich durch kühne Auskragungen an drei Fassadenfronten aus. Die dadurch sich in der Ansicht nach oben verbreiternde, umgekehrt konische Form soll an einen auf den Kopf gestellten Zuckerhut erinnern. Grund für die ungewöhnliche Bauweise war die Ausnutzung eines kleinen Grundstücks. Das Erdgeschoss des Hauses hat eine Grundfläche von nur 17 m², während das zweite Obergeschoss eine Fläche von 29 m² aufweist.
