Another lowkey attempt, there's missing light on the other eye but well... maybe I like it like this..
This is my first real Low Key portrait other than a few shots that I did at home. The horse was standing inside an indoor arena with the doorways open on each end along with about 6 windows. The horse had a loosely held rope farther down his neck and was kept steady (mostly) by my wife. Flash was a Nissin Di700 Air system on my Sony A6000. 1/800, F5.6, 30mm, sigma 30. ISO 200. Flash was held up in the air to the left side of the frame and pointed down towards the eye. I don't remember the exact flash settings as I was tweaking them on the fly, working with a 1200lb animal. :)
taken midday with a treat in hand. I love animals and this little 8 pound chihuahua is no exception. I enjoyed her sassy look as I hovered a peanut (her favorite treat) over the camera.

This was taken while in college back in Virginia Beach, Virginia. One of my brief experiences with portrait photography, especially in a real studio with giant softboxes,strobes,etc..which students had acess to.
This is Kerry Kennedy, a good friend of mine that worked with me at Qualex for Kodak, mass processing thousands of rolls of film overnight. Kerry was one of the 3 full time negative developers(my wife was one), where 3 machines would be putting out reels of negatives at the same time. Each having their own darkroom revolving doors. Bells, buzzers, and alarms going off was a typical occurence. Several people rushing around and performing "surgery" on these machines due to developings' sensitive time nature. Yeah, we have destroyed thousands of negatives (AKA treasured family photos!). Sorry!
I was one of the 2 or 3 in the the next stage...the print room. Paper film was re do able, but expensive. My wife, Joni and I were of only two couples to ever meet there and marry.
About the photo. It was probably Plus-x film and taken with a Nikon 3000. Poor Kerry hung in there while repeatedly taking drags off of the cigarettes and french-inhaling the menthol smoke. It was great fun waiting for him to get his balance back so he could smoke a few more!
