Roof of Liege-Guillemins high speed railway station, the main station of Liege. The new station was designed by architect Santiago Calatrava and opened in 2009.

Designed by George Pace in 1975, the figure of Christ is by Frank Roper. The acronym INRI (Iēsus Nazarēnus, Rēx Iūdaeōrum) represents the Latin inscription which in English reads as "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews." The motto of the Carthusians is Stat crux dum volvitur orbis, Latin for "The Cross is steady while the world is turning."

 

When I visited the Cathedral the other week I just found this sculpture hanging above the Nave stunning.

now, i do this more often than I'd like... that potential photo that you sometimes stumble upon, but need to be quick to capture.. no time to change settings or frame it up... just hoping the last settings work and that you're aiming in the right direction...

... and sometimes... just sometimes, the awesome shot that you'd probably not have thought of trying to frame sneaks it's merry little way inside of your camera :)

 

Wide open for subject matter.. just see if you can avoid the temptation to look at that little screen or that littler viewfinder!! "

 

My Canon G12 has a Quick Shot mode that I've tried a few times. Today's theme inspired me to give it a go again. This image was made with my camera hanging over my neck and shoulder at my hip, while I was seated at a table. This image is not cropped and I didn't look through the viewfinder or LCD screen.
