Thanks Ronda, for showing me this magical location!

2 hour cruise down the Menai Straits.

The Queen of the Sea was originally called [ Wayfarer 11 ], she was built in 1937 for " Stein Ferries", to be used between Long Island and Fire Island, New York.

A Hurricane in 1938 demolished approximately 400 houses on Fire Island, ending the need for the Ferry.

The Wayfarer 11, was then purchased by The British Government in 1941, and loaded onto a freighter to cross the Atlantic.

She was then used for various duties in the UK and in 1942

had been transferred to Holyhead where she was renamed "HMS Macaw". In May 1945 the Admiralty released the vessel and she was bought by the family who now own her.

She was then converted into a Pleasure Cruiser and worked out of Caernarfon until 1951, and then sold again.

Since 1951 she has been based in Rhyl, the North Coast of Scotland, Falmouth and Plymouth.

In 1984 she was purchased by the same family again for the second time and brought back to Caernarfon where she now

operates as a pleasure cruiser once more.

It was dreich and almost like fog but I believe sea mist due to the high winds but it suited me as only myself Jonathan and our dogs were actually on the beach at this particular bit anyway.. Taken just at the far steps down to the beach with Godrevy to the right of here. Through the mist I believe I can just make out the pine trees and St Uny church at Lelant but stand to be corrected. I am not sure how much detail is lost due to compression by uploading to Flickr. I have tried to catch up but am aware there are a few more of you left to catch up with but hope to catch up later today...Sue :)

if you live in Club Marazul - you need to ask for it in Spanish: "Sin cabeza y sin pie" Translation: no head; no feet. Oh , and Gracias.

Club Marazul was a Club Hotel for French Tourists on the Island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. There was a tiny grocery in the building that was serviced by Canarians who spoke Spanish and French. Sadly, I only spoke English. I lived here for about a year and one of my neighbors finally helped me to purchase one of the gorgeous looking chickens they had at the butcher - but I had no cleaver, so I never thought I could purchase one. It was one of those moments that I learned "ask and ye shall receive".

The club towel has been with me since 1984.

A small robin-like bird, the male is unmistakable in spring with his bright blue throat, bordered below with bands of black, white and chestnut. Its central throat spot can be white or chestnut, depending on which subspecies you are looking at -'white-spotted' or the more numerous 'red-spotted'. They can be quite secretive, flicking into the cover of a bush with a flash of their chestnut tail patches.

The absolute highlight of my trip... searching for vintage treasure in the huge Kitano Tenmangu flea market!

2 hour cruise ~ on the Queen of The Sea, from Caernarfon down to the " Britannia and Menai Suspension Bridges.

This cruise includes fabulous views of Snowdonia. Port Dinorwic, Plas Newydd and of course the two bridges.

I would like to clarify that I take pictures with a COMPACT CAMERA 2012 most of the time.

Have a nice day =)

Day six of the gratitude project.

Sunday I was thankful for being able to curl up with a bowl of soup & grilled cheese, and watch movies & be lazy for an afternoon with my hubby.

One more of those beautiful "purple flowers" trees...

In the jungle of concrete ...

And your beautiful colors...

I'm terribly bogged down lately and feel like I'm always performing..... Well, since Flickr seems to be the only thing that I have lately that I can enjoy I'm going to have fun with it!! I will be running around like a chicken with my head cut off for the next week, but I WILL be stopping by and playing in Flickr.... For my sanity!! ^_^

P.S. I just hit 35,000 and would like to thank you all for your continued support of my photos! You don't know how much your visits and comments mean to me!! Thank you all so much!!

If you have a chance, I would really appreciate it if you view this on black! It looks so much better in its large format on black.... At least I think so!

One of our family ambitions is to walk the Cornish coast path. We've done a fair amount but it gets harder as the kids get older and busier. So one of the family resolutions is to try and do more this year. So on Saturday we met some friends at a Youth hostel, walked 5 miles and then had a meal and stayed the night. Great fun! This is Trevose lighthouse. Processed in Snapseed.
