Getting down on the ground for this shot was worth it. One of my favs from a very enjoyable day of taking photos. I really can't say enough good things about this lens - it is versatile and amazing!

Produced for the Art Gallery Week theme “Humans in Art”
Originally a photographed painting of two women. A third woman was added with Paint (mirror image of the second woman). Processed with DDG with some redrawing. Then processed with Wombo and partly redrawn. Finished off in Paint and Paint Shop Pro.

Happy Wapiti Wednesday. One thing you can be sure of is that elk are not on your schedule. We photographers waited all morning for the elk to cross the river ... their usual routine ... emphasis on "usual" because that morning they just weren't budging. I kept the focus on the front calf in this case with the bull keeping a watchful eye in the background. I have other bull photographs to share later in better settings. Came across a small herd of bighorn rams Sunday morning who were quite content to lounge around on the cliff side and occasionally look up and open their eyes for a shot or two.

1st floor of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Taken with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Converted to B&W using Silver Efex Pro 2.
Photographed at the Maine Wildlife Park. The park is home to over 30 species of Maine wildlife that cannot be returned to their natural habitats. Some are there because they were injured or orphaned, and others because they are human dependent – raised, sometimes illegally, in captivity.
Canon FD 300mm F4 L. Shot was taken through the plexiglass wall of the enclosure.
When I first arrived at the park, this animal was curled up in a ball, sound asleep in a dark part of its enclosure. I came back several times, and on one of those occasions it had moved to a sunny spot and was awake.
They are magnificent and rare animals. In 30+ years living and hiking in Maine, I have never seen one in the wild. It was a real treat to spend some time observing and photographing this one.
