We had made a trip to March 2024
Again we were here and we met this boy
"At Sonajhuri Haat, Bolpur Shantiniketan, a young boy prepares to portray Lord Krishna, painting his face blue — a living tradition steeped in devotion and culture."
Walking on the streets of London I chanced upon a Hindu temple, it was BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir. This beautiful sight of the white carved temple with red flags flying on the pinnacle and the clear blue sky was the most tranquil place to be. The facade of this temple was grand having one dome shaped and five cone shaped structures with intricate carving. Each tip of these spires had golden Kalash on it to give it a rich look. One of the most prominent features of the heritage of Swaminarayan is temple architecture. The temples built by Swaminarayan are the evidence of the priority of Lord Krishna in Hinduism.

During Krishna Janmashtami celebrations in India, young boys partake in a cherished tradition of adorning blue paint to emulate Lord Krishna, a revered deity in Hindu mythology. Lord Krishna, often depicted with blue skin, represents divinity, compassion, and playfulness. His birth anniversary, Janmashtami, is marked by various rituals and festivities, including reenactments of his life events.
Krishna's mythology is rich with tales of his divine exploits, teachings, and playful antics as a cowherd in Vrindavan. He is celebrated for his wisdom, compassion, and unwavering devotion to righteousness, as depicted in sacred texts like the Bhagavad Gita and the Bhagavata Purana. Through Janmashtami celebrations and practices like wearing blue paint, devotees reaffirm their connection to Lord Krishna and seek to embody his virtues of love, devotion, and righteousness in their own lives.

We always have a desire to put us or God in the center of our universe. Selfish individual or Selfless divinity-the two extremes. There is no degree attached -there just Is or Not. For me, I guess I have learnt my lesson in adopting a path neither of the two. Strange then, that I still fall on neither :s
A Krishnochura for my friends, foes, and whoever and whatever lies between. This is my POV for you. This is your POV of me.
