Kvarts är ett mineral som består av kiseldioxid, SiO2. Kvarts används som råvara till både glas och porslin och är en av de viktigaste ingredienserna i keramikglasyrer. Det finns många olika varianter av kvarts som har olika färger pga olika föroreningar. Ametist, citrin, rosenkvarts och rökkvarts är några exempel. Många av dessa används till smycken.

Quartz is a mineral composed of silicon dioxide, SiO2. Quartz is used as a raw material for both glass and porcelain and is one of the most important ingredients in ceramic glazes. There are many different varieties of quartz that have different colors due to different impurities. Amethyst, citrine, rose quartz and smoky quartz are some examples. Many of these are used in jewelry.
Pebbles and a silver fish make a necklace here. When it's very hot in the summer I put it in the fridge before I wear it :)))

The flowers of this paeonia are huge,10 to 17 cm wide. This year I have about 12 flowers.

I have a gazillions of horses (well not so much truly after I got Marie Kondo'ed :D) and was thinking of the porcelain pair which the interested viewer can find in one of my albums here on Flickr, and since they are in a group I wanted to find something different and then focused on this pendant that must be 4 decades old ... I got it from my parents during horse-crazy-girl-times back in the days and there was nothing than my horse Nicky and me... While working on this shot I realized that his left front leg is shorter, worn off through the years. I used to wear a necklace 24/7 - never took it off, not even when showering or at night (you can see ne wearing it on my older selfies here ). So this shows on this little fellow. I do have a golden seahorse pendant, and I frantically looked for it but so far couldn't find it - it was worn off at the loop and I meant to bring it to a goldsmith - before covid. Pls cross fingers I ' ll find it! Thanks

This English made late Victorian (circa 1890 - 1900) brooch of a circlet of flowers and leaves is made of 18 carat gold and features sixteen seed pearls. You will notice that each flower is slightly different, which indicates that they have been made by hand, as has the detailing on each petal. With its curling foliage and flowers, it is very Art Nouveau in style.

The theme for “Looking Close on Friday” for the 28th of January is “round in a vertical photo”. I thought that this elegant brooch against a black velvet background was the perfect choice. I do hope that you like it, and that it makes you smile.
Das Labyrinth der Meister is a boardgame for 2-4 players where you aim to collect as many ingredients (the round small and numbered pieces( for your magic as possible. They are scattered on the board that consists of slideable cards that build pathways - not only can you make way for your own but screw it up for your opponents, too. A fun and strategic game!

My partner works in the community as a carer, and he gets to witness the best and worst in people. The former includes a small number of people who give him home grown produce as a special thanks for the care he provides with politeness and attention to detail. What they don't know is that he can't even boil an egg! Luckily, I am the cook out of the two of us and happily use what he is given. In this case, not only will this freshly picked lemon soon become part of a Lemon Delicious pudding, it also serves as a suitable subject for this week's "Looking Close on Friday" theme.
