A year ago I headed for Portland, and the Board of Light and Power's dam on the Grand River. Along the way I found some straw baled in a field.
In Portland I briefly stopped to catch a couple pix of the Looking Glass River. This little viewing stand's at the end of Grant Street, where there are a couple parking spaces for this little park. I've occasionally found folks eating lunch there, watching the river and the birds. It's a pleasant place for a lunch break. Most folks, though, find their way to the place while walking Portland's River Trail; you can see the trail in this photo.
The concrete thingy seeming to lean on the railing is a Whistle Post (older photo), evidently left over from the railroad right-of-way which preceded the trail.

There's a tiny dam in the park beside Portland's power dam, on Friend Brook. I'm sure there's a reason for the small dam's existence, but I don't know it. Nevertheless, that dam's the subject of the photo I posted to my daily photo project last year.

seeds. I have a flock of I would say 25-30 Morning Doves in our back yard. I have always found it hard to get a good shot, simple reason is they fly at the blink of an eye. But if you sit still and wait they always come back.

Zorki 1, Jupiter 12 and long expired (2002) Fujicolor Press 800 that I'd converted to shoot redscale, I rated the film at 50 iso., The film tore in the camera, hence the panoramic crop.
This pasture of holsteins are more interested in the photographers by their fence than they are of the passing CN manifest behind them.
What do you expect?
