On 25 June 1985, S&T work is being carried out at Clapham Junction as 'Crompton' 33037 approaches the carriage sidings from Waterloo with empty coaching stock, plus a GUV van, presumably originating from a Southampton Docks-Waterloo boat train service.

Thank you for your visit ;-)
Hello everyone and thank you for all your wonderful comments and the welcome back to Flickr too. I have written a little poem to go with a recent robin picture I took in the park on my daily exercise during lock down. Hope you like it. x
Looking Glass Falls located near Brevard, NC. Due to the wind from the waterfall coming downstream I had to use a composite image for long and short shutter speed to try to reduce blurring on the leaves.
Thanks for viewing my photos. Comments are always welcome. Please visit www.reidnorthrupphotography.com to purchase prints.

These are photos taken on my trip to Europe and the UK with a girl friend in October to November 2012. My camera I had then wasn't good with low light so some of these shots are not great but I have put them as my memories of the trip.
We woke to a better day after yesterdays cold wet day. Paris November 2012.
Paris is often referred to as the 'City of Light' (La Ville Lumière), both because of its leading role during the Age of Enlightenment and more literally because Paris was one of the first large European cities to use gas street lighting on a grand scale on its boulevards and monuments. Gas lights were installed on the Place du Carrousel, Rue de Rivoli and Place Vendome in 1829. By 1857, the Grand boulevards were lit. By the 1860s, the boulevards and streets of Paris were illuminated by 56,000 gas lamps. Since the late 19th century.

Lambert van Meerten (1842-1904) was an enthusiastic collector of building fragments, Delft earthenware and furniture with an extraordinary interest in the Golden Age. His collection grew to such an extent that he had a house built for his collection. Come in and experience how Van Meerten lived among his beloved museum pieces.
The museum house is owned by Vereniging Hendrick de Keyser.
You look outside and wonder why
Then nod you’re head and think twice
The words: "things happen for a reason"
Come to mind
Then you wipe your tears and stand your pride
You know that what happened
You'll never forget
But that's no reason to regret
So forgive the past but don’t forget
Cause life always has better plans up ahead.

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to get some private access to the top of Tower Bridge. How I got this access is another story but I had unrestricted views all over London with no a tourist in site. I didn’t know that I was getting a personal tour of the walkways. I turned up there just expecting to be escorted to the place I needed to take photos but a guide directed me all around the walkways.
During this access, I was able to go out onto the balconies at the very top of both the north and south tower. This offered unrestricted views over the city of London that I wouldn’t have dreamed of getting. Of course I made the most of it and I don’t think my camera stopped clicking when I was up there. It just so happened that the only time I could be up there was at sunset. Not a problem for me!! I was sorted.
In this image you can see the view that I got from a balcony on the north tower looking over to the Tower of London. You can see how the skyline has changed over the years with the brand new Walkie Talkie, Cheesegrater and Gherkin (insert another kitchen reference here) all in the background. London is one amazing city.
