This jadeite carving of 6,5 cm length depicts on one side 4 and the other side 5 dragons. They are swirling around between ruyi-headed clouds in search of the flaming pearl. The 4 dragon side shows an additional flying bat on top.
In former China both the dragon and the number nine were strongly associated with the emperor, the dragon being its symbol and the number nine as the highest single-digit number and resembling the word "longlasting". The highest ranking court officials wore robes depicting nine dragons.
The colour scheme of the stone is referred to as "spinach and egg" or "sancai" in Chinese, being (shades of) green, yellow and white.
The carving dates from approx. the 1930ies and is of superb quality. Not only the detail but also the organic and dynamic flow is a feast for the eye.
I'm completely stumped here - maybe one of the many species of Armillaria ...?!?
Found on a meadow close to mountain needlewood, ca. 1300 m of altitude. Growing in clumps directly from the grass, no trees anywhere close on that meadow.
Atypical for mushrooms, they are extremely longlasting - maybe around 3 weeks in real good state!

Imam-e-Rabbani Hazrat Mujaddid Alif Sa'ani Sheikh Ahmad Sarhindi (1564–1624) was an Indian Islamic Scholor from Punjab, a Hanafi jurist, and a prominent member of the Naqshbandi Sufi order. This performer wanted to truly stand out for a special event. She was the host for this event and would also perform. She desired colors to accent her unique costume and also that were consistent with a belly dancing theme. I added a tattoo on her left cheek with stencils and turquoise airbrush colors from Temptu. Her makeup was flawless and did not sweat off during her performance. Airbrush makeup is perfect for long-lasting results.

I believe that, whether you start a drawing with a message behind it, or thinking about it afterwards, it is still strongly attached to the artist's thoughts at that day or that week. Let me introduce to the "roomates" that I share my head with:
- The Happy Skull - I think of death as an obsolete taboo. The body is just a outward "coverage" of the soul and life is about the soul trying to achieve an aim that is more longlasting than the life is. Losing someone that is close to you is painful, but think about it, will you miss his body - his face his nose, his legs, or will you miss his character and the emotions that you had together?
- Him, The Bird - I cannot stop arguing about whether animals have feelings or not. Of course they do - what a silly way for people to swallow the guilt that they kill someone that may not be able to cry, but surely does not feel good about it (I am not a vegeterian, nor am I some sort of animal right activist, it is just the lie that bothers me)
- The Sparrow - I associate myself with this bird. Strangely, I recently understood that I am not the only one to think of me like that.
- Angel's new wings - There is nothing more that the drawing itself does not describe: a fat businessman with a cattish smile on his face, happy about his new belonging - someone else's money. In Bulgaria there are so many of these people, that make a trading out of spoilt dreams.
- Столнат/Stoned guy - This is a wordplay. Столнат оr Stolnat is a made up word by that comes from "стол"(chair) and describes the phase in which you get when you have smoked marijuana and cannot do anything else but sit and have conversation with yourself concerning yourself. And so does Stoned means. It is interlinguistic joke as both of the words are pronounce the same way .

Wild plants everythere can spoil the balance of the botanic enviroment , strong life plants occupied the place & attack the original plants' life right, and cause more impact to the living environments.
There are more and more natural disasters occured at all aspects from the climates down to earthquakes in recent years, which become the warn sign to people all over the world. Some of them are due to human bening's industries revolution & over consumption issue in life for the centuries, which brought us the pollution from the air till our mind in depth. The environment we lives in physical and we think in mind was polluted more or more. All kinds of words, sound, symbols related to the racial, the gender , the social status, and the country discrimination etc we created annoyed our soul & mind and caused more or more wars conflict from the people around the the world. All kinds of the air, water, food pollutions from all kinds of electronic & medical industries & instruments bring huge impact to our life & enfluence to our health.
Here I try to utilze & combine some different elements such as the leaves, the flowers, the sky, the mountain, the fog , rain & wind from the nature, and the railway station, the light, graffitti from the artifical world , and create the image which like the symbol or metaphor about what we breathe, we listen, we saw and we live together now in daily life .
With all these messy stuffs we got from the life and the world day by day , and it become the disturbance to our mind , and hard to seek the beauty of the clarity & the simplicity of the world we live and the mind we used to own. Let's try our best not only decrease the air pollution from the nature, but also simpify ourself from thoughts to mind if posssible from now on . And hope we can enjoy the happiness of simplicity & keep the longlasting of earth moving forwards.

red umbrella plant [orange]
grows, usually, in the imagination.
colored a bright red-orange delight.
found amidst fantasies. nexto dim meanders.
light streams that flow in the dark.
if it were those wet years in the future the red umbrella plant (var. orange) wld be found beside the bridge on the tiny islands surrounding its stanchions.
the umbrella plants would observe the lush overgrowth & the decimated ruin of post-civilisational metropolis. crumbling decaying blocks & spires. tiny remnants. vast remnants. this mannahatta of no humanly untouched centimeter. retouched by destruction & encroaching nature. even if it be mostly previously alien nature. migration. the evolution of place. resolution of space. the forward motion of species of trees that creep well. ailanthus altissima or trees of heaven first brought to philly from china in the 17th century. great giant fast spreading weeds. fast burning & pulpy but not especially useful for structures of any durability. but it is easy to work with.
the red umbrella is known for its prominence amongst the greens of trees of heaven. the orange umbrella would make a great hairdo or hopping bug or cornbeef hash. the wood is hard and longlasting if not plentiful. any number of totems may be carved from it & potions derived from the shavings. the roots may be boiled into a richly flavorful tea. a disturbingly odd redgreen luminescent color. like beet tea if the beet were more wiggly. a soothing tea that makes you say things that wont make sense til later.
a little bird lives in there. it's blue more like a kestrel than a songbird. and it has tentacles atop its little noggin & enormous eyes. these squirds are after more than a worm. less it's one o those great big green umbrella worms. but they are exceedingly rare.
this bird o prey scoops things from the scurrying night streams of light in the form of motion in the dark. the little squird deftly returns to the red umbrella plant(orange) with captured prey. fish & bunnies & slow night birds & such. at night it's best not to be the brightest bunny in the field.
the squird rules the tiny night & roosts in the orange thorny bonnet of the red umbrella.
nothing really eats birds of prey. even if they have tentacles. it's dangerous to cut down a red umbrella plant because of the squirds. hope they're hunting or they dont live there.
harvesting the umbrella at the end of the season is acceptable. uprooting a dead red umbrella is permissable whereas the harvest of an entire red umbrella plant at once can only take place in an umbrella grove. a rare conglom of multiple plants growing together. where often the many of blue squirds can be found.
squirds are too smart and too viscious to kill. so humans have no choice but to befried them as best they can by planting a squird plot nearby any cultivated red umbrella patch. which patch the squirds will choose is up to them.

Just over a year ago I came across what I thought was a bargain, two orchids in flower for £10. So I picked two this one and a white one. The white one I gave away as a present and this one I kept.
It has been in flower since before I bought it! The original spike is still going. The top of it has died and I cut off the obviously dead bit but it had already produced a side shoot that was flowering so I lost no flowers. Its now flowering on a side shoot of a side shoot and on a second flowering shoot that the plant produced this summer. This second shoot has also started to produce a side shoot. Maybe it will keep going till Christmas!
In all that time it has never been without an open flower.
Up-date 30-03-2011 its on its last flower now! There are more to come as its developing another side-shoot.
