Though in black & white here, these are very bright and deep magenta in colour. Called " Vadamalli" in Malayalam, these flowers also go by the names of Globe Amaranth or Bachelor's Buttons!
Very common in southern India, they are commonly used in flower garlands. They do not wilt easily and last for a few days once cut.
This watch is more than 20 years old
but still fully functional and operational.

This jadeite carving of 6,5 cm length depicts on one side 4 and the other side 5 dragons. They are swirling around between ruyi-headed clouds in search of the flaming pearl. The 4 dragon side shows an additional flying bat on top.
In former China both the dragon and the number nine were strongly associated with the emperor, the dragon being its symbol and the number nine as the highest single-digit number and resembling the word "longlasting". The highest ranking court officials wore robes depicting nine dragons.
The colour scheme of the stone is referred to as "spinach and egg" or "sancai" in Chinese, being (shades of) green, yellow and white.
The carving dates from approx. the 1930ies and is of superb quality. Not only the detail but also the organic and dynamic flow is a feast for the eye.

After a hard night of gambling and drinking (I only lost about $25 and only had 3 beers) I left Cactus Pete's with some good, longlasting memories. I met Phyllis the barmaid, Freddie the custodian, and Jake the retired cop from Twin Falls who used to live in Philadelphia as a kid. Jake gave me some good advice: stay away from the slots: all they do is take your $$. He told me this after I had lost my $25 or so. Jake was going back to Twin Falls this morning, and I was heading to Salt Lake City. We may never meet again, but I will never forget his fatherly advice and his aftershave which smelled like Old Spice
Jul 18th was Scott Kelby's Second Annual Worldwide Photo Walk day. More than 20,000 photographers around the world went on photo walks - taking pics, having fun. I joined a local walk here - went around downtown Bellevue for about an hour and a half. It was good fun. I couldn't hang out much later with other enthusiasts as I had to go catch a movie :)
Lagerstroemia indica - Crape myrtles are known for their colorful and long-lasting flowers which occur in summer months. Most species have strong and vigorous fluted stems and branches with a mottled appearance that arises from having bark that sheds throughout the year. The leaves are opposite and simple, with entire margins. We saw this bush in southern Virginia.

A bicycle was standed alone at the corner of somewhere at the city , which like the methphor of our hearts & souls was disturbed by the information from mass medium in the daily life, and are eager to seek for a quiet & private space for the rest & refreshment.
There are more and more natural disasters occured at all aspects from the climates down to earthquakes in recent years, which become the warn sign to people all over the world. Some of them are due to human bening's industries revolution & over consumption issue in life for the centuries, which brought us the pollution from the air till our mind in depth. The environment we lives in physical and we think in mind was polluted more or more. All kinds of words, sound, symbols related to the racial, the gender , the social status, and the country discrimination etc we created annoyed our soul & mind and caused more or more wars conflict from the people around the the world. All kinds of the air, water, food pollutions from all kinds of electronic & medical industries & instruments bring huge impact to our life & enfluence to our health.
Here I try to utilze & combine some different elements such as the leaves, the flowers, the sky, the mountain, the fog , rain & wind from the nature, and the railway station, the light, graffitti from the artifical world , and create the image which like the symbol or metaphor about what we breathe, we listen, we saw and we live together now in daily life .
With all these messy stuffs we got from the life and the world day by day , and it become the disturbance to our mind , and hard to seek the beauty of the clarity & the simplicity of the world we live and the mind we used to own. Let's try our best not only decrease the air pollution from the nature, but also simpify ourself from thoughts to mind if posssible from now on . And hope we can enjoy the happiness of simplicity & keep the longlasting of earth moving forwards.

Last year my daughter and my husband bought a 'liquidificador', a longlasting dream. I didn't like it too much, because my kitchen is pretty small... This morning it made me a wonderful healthy vitamin-drink to fight back my cold. And at least, I love the word 'liquidificador', which is Brazilian, where my husband spent a year long time ago.
I tried to give the sketch a kind of shabby look, otherwise it seemed too boring to me. And aren't the colours healthy-looking? Fruit from all over the world, Ecuador, Spain, Australia... right out of my supermarket.
