This old pine is found outside Trondheim in a small lake. Quite dense vegetation around it so I had to keep close. 3 horizontal captures stitched vertically in LR. BW edit in PS.
“Didn’t St. John of the Cross hide himself in a room up in a church tower where there was one small window through which he could look out at the country? Benedictine tranquility. Pax. That’s what I think about. I have more of it perhaps because I am less mixed up today in peculiar tensions of desire and pride that come from fighting the will of God in an obscure way, under the pretext of a greater good.
There is only one way to peace: be reconciled that of yourself you are what you are, and it might not be especially magnificent, what you are. God has His own plan for making something else of you, and it is a plan which you are mostly too dumb to understand.”

Einsam
Yes, there is some work in it. There were several branches of other trees hanging next to a rivulet but I had to make this picture simply .. and stamped away everything "disturbing". It was too far before the next clear view of the subject and "Sancho" and the horse moved further and further away from the tree.
By the way, we (Kátya and I) were on the dog-walk to the Restaurant "Ponyhof" to celebrate the birthday with Mrs. Koch.

Empty railroad tracks across Croatia. I remember that on this day we had visited the home of a woman who had lived through the war with Serbia and had some chilling stories to tell. A very eye-opening experience!
I bought Olympus E-M5MarkII and I went to the forest to take test shoots.
This camera is a dust-proof drip-proof specification. It'll be my best buddy because I like the river and mountains.

One of the biggest trees I saw traveling between the distilleries at Islay this spring. The paps of Jura can be seen in the background.
It was a cool, calm, misty, foggy morning......
Waiting for the sun to rise & the fog to slowly lift, this lonely cypress was just screaming peace....serenity......& solitude.
Sure is the time of year to have some of that....
Peace to all this Holiday Season.
Thanks for the visit. Feedback always welcome and very much appreciated.....
Happy Sunday & have a great new week ahead !
Last Sunday I spent a day on Camera Show. I sold one lens but acquired few quirky old enlarger and large format lenses so I will torture you with a photos made by them. All are adapted with glue, camera caps and some helicoids.
So this one is Kinex Paris France Kinn Anastigmat 105mm f4.5 lens for large format cameras. Shutter jams easily and nicely. Soft, low contrast, unsaturated natural colors, at moments quirky bokeh. In one word, all that contemporary HD sharpens junkies hate.
Had been waiting a very long time for the right conditions to shoot this place and yes it happened!!!
A empty hopper train emerges from the only tunnel on the Big Sandy Subdivision just north of Paintsville, Ky.
The picture was taken at Livermore. Luckily we still have some ranches left un touched by the housing boom.
