The downed trees are the result of wind storms, possibly assisted by southern pine beetles.

 

This is my idea of a fine playground. What might look like a body of water in the background is actually just clouds. However, there is a creek on the other size of that rise and a pond a short distance to the left.

You can tell by how far apart the growth rings are.

This stick on a fallen log caught my eye, because I think it looks like a gorilla face. Am I crazy?

Log train locomotive previously owned by the W. T. Smith Logging Company of Butler County, AL was driven by Hank Williams father and was the inspiration of the song "Log Train" written in 1952. This locomotive is now located at the Pike Pioneer Museum in Troy, AL.
