Log Pile outside my cottage - reminds me that I must get MORE logs - and kindling and fire lighters - save all my newspapers and get my Chimney swept - ready for the first open log fire of the Autumn! I LOVE open fires - mesmerising, hypnotic, relaxing and even if it isn't cold enough I will open the windows just so I can have my log fire without melting!
A log cabin in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee. (Went back to the backed up archives since I couldn't take many pics today.)
The second obstacle was a slippery log climb through muddy waters. This is when the clothes got really dirty.
Held on March 2, 2012 in Atlanta, GA, the Run For Your Lives Zombie 5k and obstacle course consisted of 2500 runner and 500 zombie volunteers. The runner had to cross 12 obstacles, water and lots of mud to survive or be infected. The runners wore flag football belts, and those who ended the race with flags survived. The rest were zombies to be.
I'm assuming this is a sawmill. I saw logs and I heard sawing. I also saw some impressive stacks of lumber further up the road. I did not however, see any sawdust or a sawdust burner.

Green River - Auburn, WA - June 2006
What rolls down stairs
alone or in pairs,
and over your neighbor's dog?
What's great for a snack,
And fits on your back?
It's log, log, log
It's log, it's log,
It's big, it's heavy, it's wood.
It's log, it's log, it's better than bad, it's good."
Everyone wants a log
You're gonna love it, log
Come on and get your log
Everyone needs a log

Ever wonder what it takes to build a log house. These are pictures of the entire construction of our house from October 2006 to Nov 2007. It might take me a few days to put them all up, so if you're looking at these as I am posting them, check back for the rest.
I'll add these all to me log home set, so it might be easier to click that set to the right and go from there (I'll try to get them in order the best I can).
If you have any questions about the construction, feel free to ask. I was there pretty much everday and then I was there everyday after I fired our general contractor and had to finish his work myself.
Feel free to leave comments.
