A brisk walk down to Findhorn Bay this evening with a view to clearing the Christmas cobwebs and hopefully catching a decent sunset in the process. This old log has been down the bay for some time now and is not a product of the storm of the past two days. With the direction of the sunset at this time of year I was hoping to capture the log 'pointing' to the fading light.
The piles of logs in the hills near Killin contrast well with the snow-covered mountains of the area.
This Little Blue Heron landed on this log. The log started rolling and the heron would lose its balance and throw up its wings. The bird would move more to the right hoping it would be more stable. It was funny to watch.
I couldn't decide which in this series to upload. I had many good shots but narrowed it to these four. I couldn't narrow any further.
Opposite the Columbia Theater in Longview, Washington is this very different monotone mural with the wood grain of a log round superimposed on the pioneer logging scene.
