In 1857, a distillery was founded in Waterloo, Ontario. Joseph E. Seagram became a partner in 1869 and sole owner in 1883, and the company became known as Joseph E. Seagram & Sons. Many decades later, Samuel Bronfman founded Distillers Corporation Limited, in Montreal, which enjoyed substantial growth in the 1920s, in part due to Prohibition in the United States.
In 1997, the Seagram Museum, formerly the original Seagram distillery in Waterloo, was forced to close due to lack of funds. The building is now the home of the Centre for International Governance Innovation. The two original barrel houses are now the Seagrams Lofts condominiums. There are also almost 5 acres (20,000 m2) of land for future development.
I am in the process of renovating a space in Detroit's Eastern Market to live in. It started off as a dusty, completely unfinished cube. Goal is to be done by January 1st.

Modern, and yet classy. Very elegant with the aparent bricks all around..
I like the loft idea very much, (about the space and two-floor stuff) but it´s really the kind of apartment that you must know who do you invite home, cause you don´t have that much of privacy there. Modern place to live alone or with a girlfriend - if you don´t get tot take visits that often.
Awesome way to starting your way up, but I´m still more fond of penthouses instead.

It's like building a "Airfix/Revell kit" in your youth, R-T-F-M (read the "f$%#'n" manual ;-) Take your time!
