Beach bars are deserted as the UK government enforce one of the last lockdowns in the world with no end in sight

The UK is on Coronavirus lockdown to tackle the coronavirus pandemic, with people told to stay at home, with a handful of exceptions - one being that they can undertake one form of exercise a day, including cycling, provided they do so alone or with members of their household.

So I did. Alone. And avoided everyone.

Over half of Australia is in lockdown to try to combat an outbreak of Delta (we have low vaccination rates). This is what I see within my 10km bubble from home.

The protest is directed against excessive lockdown measures. One fears the transition to a totalitarian society. Forced apps, implanted chips, 5G control technology.

Being confined to my home and garden means I have to look both inward and outward for pictures. This was taken on a Panasonic GX8 with the 12-60mm Leica Panasonic zoom.

A year ago this pub hosted a bonfire and fireworks night. That obviously won't happen tonight regardless of Lockdown because the pub is to let. The viewing day was on the day before Notts went to tier 3 of Covid-19 restrictions.
