#lockdown song

One of the favorite songs of my youth. Still love it. and the Lockdown offered me time to listen, to watch and to breathe. A gift as long as you stay healthy and don‘t suffer and your existence is not in danger.

Strange phenomenon.

I could have saved the foolish ones if we will get an extension of the lockdown or a third hard lockdown later. Somehow I want to get this photo out of this unpleasant year :-)

On a sad day that the UK death toll passes 100,000

I have set myself a lockdown challenge too only take photos in my garden or from my garden. It is going to be interesting to see what effect this has on my photographic skills. With no travelling involved I will be able to take advantage of the change in the light conditions, and hopefully this will help me improve my eye for a composition.

Stay safe Stay Home.

The second wave of Covid-19 has hit Germany very hard. On the 16th new restrictions became effective and many shops had to close.

While the city center of Cologne isn't quite as deserted as it was in March and April, usually at this time of the year, the streets would be crowded.

Had to drive up to St Andrews to collect the boy and his stuff so we can all hunker-down together.

One from the archives from May of 2020 although the date might say different. I used to swim in this vast saltwater pool but was prohibited during lockdown. I will always remember the quietness during those months. No planes flying overhead. Normality appears to have returned somewhat.

Freizeit im Freien - die Menschen genießen diese Möglichkeit im Lockdown bis in die Abendstunden

We sent flowers to all our daughters to cheer them up - so we sent ourselves some too! Extravagant, but offering a bit of hope and pleasure...

Lockdown

Location: Mineral Ridge

I can feel you calling me

I can see the cracks between these walls

But this pain

I choke on the words as they rise in me

To survive, I lock down

I can feel you calling me

I can taste the poison in your heart

But these dreams

Blurring the line between war and peace

To survive, I lock down

Say the words

I can’t face the world

If I could say the words

Everything would be broken still

We are broken....

Watching an old Bond movie in the kitchen.

During the Coronavirus lockdown, I'm going to be posting some digital abstracts - I've only just started doing them so still plenty to learn.

A very moody shot due to lockdown mania. I have been fiddling with photos all morning but not very happy with any of them so this is my dark moody shot as a result!!!

Ruhe und Beschaulichkeit am Hafen - die Kneipen, Cafés und Restaurants sind geschlossen.

Sport in Gruppen (z. B. Rudern) findet nicht mehr statt.

Vereinzelt sind Jogger und ab und an auch mal ein Photograph am Kanal unterwegs.

Mögen wir gut durch diese Zeiten kommen...

Abandoned Powerplant

A teddy looks down onto our passivhaus village green space on day one of our new lockdown. Ten people with covid in NZ outside the quarantine hotels. Now it is confirmed to be delta variant most likely from Sydney. It just took one missed visitor ...My second shot of vaccine comes up very soon.

Social distancing - reluctantly. Teddy wanted to help with planting - or at least with digging. Had to confine him to the deck

It's been difficult to get and do photography with the current lockdown restrictions. Luckily the sunrise and sunset can be viewed from anywhere.

I've seen a fair few of these and thought I'd try my hand at one. First attempt and it's a little 'brown' for my tastes.

Great fun and really easy to do. Big thanks to everyone making lockdown videos of how to do these type of effects.

Firmly in the category of 'things you never knew before lockdown.'

Scene 32 of lockdown phase !!

The sunset moments from my rooftop...taken in West Bengal, India

I bought myself a Helios lens to play with and it arrived today (it takes a looooong time to get from Russia to Australia!). Just in time to amuse me during our latest hard lockdown which looks like it is going to last a while :/... So before I pulled off the front element and flipped it around so I can play with all the exciting bokeh I took a couple of quick portraits of my lil companion and now I don't think I want to mess with my lens! It's so soft and dreamy... though I think I'm too presbyopic to cope with manual focusing haha
