Starting from today I've put my Wood Pigeons into lockdown. LoL.

Es gibt sicher niemanden unter uns, der coronabedingt nicht ein paar besondere Momente in Erinnerung behalten wird. Hoffentlich waren es bei euch positive Momente, bei mir war es zumindest so.
In Erinnerung blieb unter anderem dieser Abend im Frühjahr 2020 während des ersten sogenannten "Lockdown" in Sachsen. Die Kaiser's mussten sich zu viert mit Homeschooling und Homeoffice arrangieren, was ganz gut geklappt hat, den Gang in die Natur aber umso wichtiger machte. Wo sonst kann man Kraft und Ruhe so intensiv tanken - das geht mir zumindest so.
Eine dieser "Corona-Touren" führte mich abseits stark begangener Wanderwege (Kontakte sollten ja gemieden werden) zum Sonnenuntergang auf den Kleinhennersdorfer Stein in der Sächsischen Schweiz. Hier wartete ein entspannter Sonnenuntergang darauf, festgehalten zu werden.

One upside of the outbreak is that a few companies are offering apps for free or putting them on offer. I bought Affinity Photo for half price and created this composite in it today from a couple of photos, great photoshop alike for iPad.

I have set myself a lockdown challenge too only take photos in my garden or from my garden. It is going to be interesting to see what effect this has on my photographic skills. With no travelling involved I will be able to take advantage of the change in the light conditions, and hopefully this will help me improve my eye for a composition.

Lockdown begins again. I will continue to work although today was a day off so myself and my friend met for a socially distanced dog walk around this huge ‘puddle’ in the middle of our local playing field. Stay safe and well everyone ! X

Callie doesn't understand all the fuss, since she never leaves the apartment unless it is for a visit to the Vet, which she would just as soon skip, anyway.
I am pleased to see that daily COVID cases in Turkey have dropped to about 6,000 from 32,000 when they first imposed the restrictions.
Die Klugen und Törichten Jungfrauen sind eine Skulpturengruppe am Paradiesportal des Magdeburger Doms, die das gleichnamige Gleichnis darstellt. Man datiert sie um die Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts, der Bildhauer bleibt anonym. Die zehn Figuren bestehen aus Sandstein und sind mit einer Höhe von 120–130 cm annähernd lebensgroß.

It is dated to the middle of the 13th century, the sculptor remains anonymous. The ten figures are made of sandstone and are almost life-size with a height of 120–130 cm.

Die Törichten hätte ich mir auch aufheben können, wenn wir eine Verlängerung des Lockdowns bekommen oder einen dritten harten Lockdown später. Irgendwie will ich dieses Foto aber in diesem unerfreulichen Jahr noch raus hauen :-)
I could have saved the foolish ones if we will get an extension of the lockdown or a third hard lockdown later. Somehow I want to get this photo out of this unpleasant year :-)
The second wave of Covid-19 has hit Germany very hard. On the 16th new restrictions became effective and many shops had to close.
While the city center of Cologne isn't quite as deserted as it was in March and April, usually at this time of the year, the streets would be crowded.
