We just went into a stay-at-home emergency order here in Ontario...for 28 days. Stay-at-home, lockdown, shutdown...it's all the same to me. Fortunately I'm retired.

Took a quick selfie/mugshot the other day, wrinkles and all. It’s only the 2nd I've ever taken. Nothing artistic, just yours truly for a laugh. I normally have a dislike for being in front of a camera.....at least knowingly!

One great thing with wearing a mask, I don't need to shave often....and I can stick my tongue out at anyone secretly.

Café ’t Papeneiland, Prinsengracht, Jordaan.

Amsterdam, March 2021.

Café 't Papeneiland became world news when Bill Clinton came to taste the homemade apple pie during his visit to Amsterdam.

The current building dates from 1642, it was restored in the twentieth century and the café was renamed "t Papeneiland" after the former name of the Catholic enclave at the beginning of the Prinsengracht.

Lockdown Potoshop in der City

I have set myself a lockdown challenge too only take photos in my garden or from my garden. It is going to be interesting to see what effect this has on my photographic skills. With no travelling involved I will be able to take advantage of the change in the light conditions, and hopefully this will help me improve my eye for a composition.

Stay safe Stay Home.

Macro Mondays: lockdown song, album or genre of music

Flickr Lounge: starts with the letter B (blue)

Frost doesn't form as symmetrically as snow, and notice that this isn't a six-sided flake. I loved the bubbles on this one, and the detail on the largest flake. My husband loved the gradated blue.

Classical music is my favorite for weather- or season-related music, including the days of being mostly inside during winter that coincides with the Covid-19 pandemic. Special ones include Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 1 "Winter Dreams," Op. 13 and Ballet of the Snowflakes (from Le voyage dans la lune) by Offenbach.

Thank you in advance for your views, faves, and comments! My first Macro Mondays shot to hit Explore. By the end of its day on Explore, this had become my number-one faved shot, with about 7,000 views and more than 250 faves--and that was at spot #300. Check out my album of frost photos, with an amazing variety of shapes and frosted items, here: www.flickr.com/photos/cherylmolin/albums/72157717520030323

Van Morrison - No More Lockdown

“I’m not telling people what to do or think, the government is doing a great job of that already. It’s about freedom of choice, I believe people should have the right to think for themselves.”

No more lockdown

No more government overreach

No more fascist police

Disturbing our peace

No more taking of our freedom

And our God-given rights

Pretending it's for our safety

When it's really to enslave

Who's running our country?

Who's running our world?

Examine it closely

And watch it unfurl

No more lockdown

No more threats

No more Imperial College

Santas making up crooked facts

No more lockdown

No more pulling the wool over our eyes

No more celebrities telling us

Telling us what we'rе supposed to feel

No more status quo

Put your shoulder to thе wind

No more lockdown

No more lockdown

No more lockdown

No more lockdown

One of the advantages of the lockdown has been having Ana at home. I can see how rusty Ive gotten shooting portraits of her. Street portraits are way easier. I'm experimenting with all my lenses and can't begin to tell you how much I love the 16-35mm. I feel this is such a typical lockdown portrait. Glamorous on top and pyjamas below.

After 3 months of lockdown, as soon as the travel restrictions were eased slightly on Monday, we ventured to Salisbury Plain.

What a perfect evening!

And .... breathe!

Lockdown has taken enough of my time. In the train to Amsterdam and 30 minutes later I’m wandering through a deserted town. The part of the town were people not come when the sun is down. I will show you the places I found, one every day if possible.
