This species of sparrow are very localized on the Eastern Seaboard of the US. They are salt marsh specialists and found almost exclusively in this type of ecosystem. I am fortunate to live within driving distance of a local population and decided to photograph them for the first time this morning. They are difficult birds to get completely isolated as they prefer to hang in the mid section of the reeds for protection. I find the Seaside Sparrow to be not only unique but quite handsome. Please view large for this habitat shot.
As always, Thank you for stopping by~!
They have been known to bite humans if handled. Verified bites have caused no major medical problems. Localized itchiness at the bite site has been reported in some cases.

Coeloglossum viride (Orchidaceae) 162 22
Coeloglossum viride is a widespread but highly localized orchid with a circumferential distribution throughout most of Europe. Its choice of habitat is extremely varied and the species can be found in dry or wet conditions, in full sun or shade and on alkaline or acid substrates. Although it may occur at high altitudes throughout its distribution, in the south of it is range it is virtually confined to mountain grasslands and light woodland. Coeloglossum viride can tolerate altitudes up to nearly 3000 meters and is perfectly at home growing alongside more specialized Alpine orchids such as the Vanilla Orchids.

The lovebug is a species of march fly found in parts of Central America and the southeastern United States, especially along the Gulf Coast. Localized lovebug flights can number in the millions. Male/female pairs (joined tail-to-tail) will hover in the air, drifting slowly. Two major flights occur each year; the spring flight occurs during late April and May, and the summer flight occurs during late August and September. Flights extend over periods of four to five weeks. Mating takes place almost immediately after emergence of the females. Adult females live only three to four days, while males live a little longer. They have to stick to each other at all times.

Very localized and poorly-known seedeater. Mostly known from northeastern Argentina and southern Paraguay, but also a disjunct cluster of records in Bolivia and Brazil. Might undergo seasonal movements. Males have blackish or dark brown throat and cheek (sometimes extending onto nape and upper breast), gray crown, and unmarked tan underparts. Females are pale sandy-brown overall; note dark bill. Look for pairs or small flocks in open grassy habitats, often mixed with other seedeaters.
ENDANGERED. Capuchino seedeaters are highly susceptible to anthropogenic disturbance of their grassland habitat, which is rapidly being converted for agricultural use, the intensification of livestock practices and afforestation. This species is categorized as globally Endangered on the basis of its very small population size, the potential for habitat loss and degradation, and the potential for capture for the pet trade.
