Here, this huge load symbolizes the heavy load of karma we all drag around behind us; our accumulated outbursts of anger and hate, our unending selfish desires, our ignorance, pride, jealousy, hypocrisy and on and on. The Buddhist path teaches us to become mindful of our thoughts, words and actions and tune into and act from our basic goodness. The Buddha said we can do this, that he wouldn’t give us something to do that we couldn’t do.

what a cool idea to find some inspiration...when u type in katie...you get dolls? There were some super cute doll bunny slippers and that led me to make an Easter page. i started by making an Easter bunny that looked like the slippers, but after i created the page he wasnt quite right, so i made 2 pages, so he would fit in.

[The background story]
I love white space. I love using white as a background for my pages. But sometimes, a pop of color is in order.
Journaling reads:
"My gallery-style wall in the living room is still in the works. The wall behind it is canton purple. "It'll be too bold" they said. "It'll be too dark" they said. At least it isn't your everyday-run of the mill, museum quality white. I love it. May 1. 2013"

A is for Apple seems like such a cliche but apples are a big part of our family history and heritage. I had some photos from October 2009 when quite a few family members were able to come to the farm on the same weekend to help pick the crop. (I loved the Sue Grafton books but there is no mystery involved with my page today!) I started with a template, changed up quite a few things and made the apple embellishment at the bottom of the page from one of my photos.

There were a lot of these caterpillars on stingy nettles, big blobs of black , I have checked through my book and they seem to be the caterpillar of the Peacock Butterfly....
