Lizard Point. The most southerly part of mainland Britain.

Taken from Chinese Garden

This was supposed to be the texture of a lizard's (probably actually a snake) skin, imitated in words. Didn't quite pull it off.

Unfortunately I can't remember which species of lizard this was and my reptile identification skills are insufficient to try and identify it. Taken at Bristol Zoo

Common Lizard seen briefly in my garden. This was the only shot I got of it that was in focus before it disappeared into the lawn.

Egyptian Spiny Tailed Lizard

Dessert Species

Location: Qatar

The largest member of its genus, the Egyptian spiny-tailed lizard is easily recognised by the relatively short and heavily spined tail that gives the species its common name. The body is large and rather flat, with a large head and strong limbs, and like other members of the Agamidae, is capable of changing colour with body temperature, turning from black to white or yellow as the lizard warms up. The juvenile Egyptian spiny-tailed lizard is light grey-brown, with yellow bars and spots on the back, helping to distinguish it from the juvenile of the closely related Uromastyx leptieni (Leptien’s spiny-tailed lizard), which is an overall dark grey. The adults are more difficult to tell apart, but Leptien’s spiny-tailed lizard has coarser scales and enlarged flank scales.

Found this lizard down close to the mail box sun bathing on some rocks

Hanging gardens, Mumbai

My first encounter with the monitor lizards in the park... It was lying motionless, sunbathing along the path... As this was the first monitor lizard specimen I came across, I spent a good 20 minutes or so taking pictures of it from various angles and distances, and trying out various camera settings etc... only to disciver that this 1st specimen was merely a puny (small and skinny ! ) representation of the numerous monitor lizards (as you'll soon see) to be found in the park... sigh...

The object of lizard cat's interest is revealed: A camping chair's drink holder.
