Can't remember what kind of lizard though. To clarify, this is not a crop or a macro. This lizard is probably 6 feet or so long.
So far about five different lizards in my yard this year. No wonder the Roadrunner frequents the area! Los Ranchos, NM

Well, today I tried something new and chased lizards round a quarry...... I discovered it's quite difficult!
The viviparous lizard or common lizard (Zootoca vivipara) The viviparous lizard feeds on invertebrates, mostly small insects. It shakes larger prey in its jaws before chewing it and swallowing it whole. In early spring, late autumn, and cool summer days, it basks in the sun to reach its optimum body temperature, which is about 30°C. Like many lizards can detach their tails to escape from predators, an act called autotomy.
Reaching almost 3 m in length, the water monitor is the 2nd largest lizard on Earth (largest being the Komodo Dragon - also a monitor).
