As of June 2025, the PolRegio depot in Chojnice posesses a fleet of 4 SM42 and SU42 locomotives, which are used in the summer season for regional trains on the route (Chojnice) - Gdynia - Hel. For that reason, the locomotives are regularly maintained both in the depot and in the Maxima workshops in Gdańsk.
After a minor repair in Maxima, SU42-509 came back to Chojnice at the start of June. For a test run, it was deployed on a pair of standard regio trains between Chojnice and Tczew - ROS 50712 and ROS 50783. Here it is seen leaving Starogard Gdański towards Chojnice with the latter train.
SU42-509 was produced in 1975 as SP42-139. It was modernised to the SU42 standard in the year 2000 (the steam heating was replaced by electric heaters) and it then went on to haul regional trains in many different depots in Poland.

Zantedeschia aethiopica (Calla lily / Cartucho)
Zantedeschia aethiopica has been known to European horticulture since at least the 1660s. The species epithet ''aethiopica' refers to the fact that it is native to Africa. The genus name was given in honour of Giovanni Zantedeschi, an Italian botanist who lived in the early 19th century.
Zantedeschia aethiopica is native to southern Africa.

Old Live Oak lined road in the country near Gaddis farms. This is also supposed to be where a scene in the film “Oh Brother Where Art Thou” was shot with George Clooney.
Enderoving to improve this photo I reshot it later in the day to improve the lighting, while its better, I am still very frustrated that I cannot get it the way I see it in my minds eye.
Few more with Hewlett Paskard 75mm f1.9. On this moody Montreal cloudy weather it is soft and lack contrast more than Anastigmat. Wide open it is close to unusable. It needs to be closed a bit. Fifteen blades in aperture help to still have nice smooth bokeh with we defined balls of confusion if they are present.
A lot of contrast is added to those photos in Darktable, and I warmed the colours .

Infrared makes light register differently, enough to make the scene look a little magical. This road to Botany Bay is one of my favorite places, pretty magical in its own right.
