Artist: Keith Haring
1982
Lithograph on paper
Haring made 1000 of these posters and distributed them at an anti-nuclear protest. The "radiant baby" in the middle of the mushroom cloud represents innocence in the middle of horror.
Albuquerque Museum, Albuquerque, New Mexico
Original digital painting with iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, and ProCreate. Post-processing with Graphite app.
This small lithograph is a fairly crude copy of a much larger original painting that must reside in a museum somewhere. This dramatic illustration shows a vessel (nationality unknown) partially dismasted as the result of heavy weather. The lithograph is in an unusual location, has probably been seen by hordes of people, but has most likely gone unnoticed by most. Can you guess the location where this photo was taken? A future post will show the lithograph "in context" where I encountered it, and list its location details for visitors to this popular venue.
