I don't think I've ever seen a boat of this size with so few containers onboard.
The next destination is listed as Hamburg, although the press state it is headed to dry dock in France for damage surveys after the mishap in Egypt.
The second item on my bucket list - a bucket of bolts. According to www.urbandictionary.com, a bucket of bolts is a machine that is old, run-down, or worn out. I think this old truck qualifies!

Bare metal bodywork is always a winner in my book, and this 1958 Lister Chevrolet Knobbly is right up there in my eyes. Another low down point of view shot along the flank, highlighting those beautiful curves.

Ralston's Cairn, Glencoe, Scotland
As I’m shortly to set off for a 2 week trip to Glencoe & Isle of Skye I thought I’d post an image I took in Glencoe a little over a year ago.
I’d seen photos of the Ralston Cairn on Flickr and saw a YouTube vlog on it a few years ago so I knew roughly where it was but had not actually tried to find it before. It’s one of those ‘honeypot’ images that divides opinions and given the main subject of the image is man-made even I wondered about shooting it. However, as I’d never shot it before I thought it was worth tracking down and seeing if there might be a nice sunset too. Alas there was nothing going on in the sky so I just fiddled around with various focus-bracketed compositions and chose this. No points for originality but it will do for me and it’s crossed off my list of Glencoe shots…..unless I’m in the area and it looks like a decent sky will be likely. Who knows, might happen this month when I’m up there although I want to seek out a few new places as well as some ‘tried-and-tested’ ones. If I’m absent until later in March you know why!
The Ralston Cairn is dedicated to Ralston Claud Muir, a train driver on the West Highland Line and avid hiker, especially within the Glencoe Glen.
Sadly Ralston fell ill on Christmas day 1999 and died 16 days later on 10 January 2000 from multiple organ failure caused by Leukaemia. He was only 32 years old.
The Glencoe Glen was his favourite place to hike and his friends and/family thought it fitting to erect an everlasting monument to his memory. His ashes are also interred at this spot. His friends and family still visit the monument, often with a wee dram of whisky to toast to his memory.

The beautiful market town of Chipping Campden in the Cotwolds originally became prosperous through the wool trade. Sir Baptist Hicks - a cloth merchant who was a major benefactor of the town - had this row of almshouses built in 1612 at a personal cost of £1300, which was a vast sum for the time. He also gave £140 to maintain six poor men and six poor women in perpetuity. The Grade I-listed almshouses still fulfill their original purpose.
Hicks lavished money on the church, giving a new roof, the churchyard wall and a bell, while in the High Street he had the Market Hall built.

This beautiful Grade II-listed building is on the quayside at Boscastle in North Cornwall. According to British Listed Buildings the cottage dates from around the mid-1800s, possibly with earlier origins.
Boscastle harbour is a natural inlet protected by two stone harbour walls built in 1584 and is the only significant harbour for 20 miles along the north Cornish coast. Once a small port importing limestone and coal, and exporting slate and other local produce, these days it is simply home to a handful of small inshore fishing boats and a couple of small pleasure craft.
A rather inviting bistro on the lovely Piazza di Spagna in Pienza, unfortunately not open yet this early in the morning.

At one time Lister Mill was one of the largest factories in the north of England. Now upmarket apartments and workspace. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lister_Mills
The Grade II-listed Hardwater Mill is just to the west of Wellingborough in Northamptonshire, on the River Nene near Great Doddington. The buildings date from the mid-1700s to the early 1800s, though there has been a watermill on this site since the time of the Domesday Book. Milling ceased in 1946 and it is now a private residence.

The North Euston Hotel is a hotel in Fleetwood, Lancashire, England. It was built 1840–41, to a design by Decimus Burton. During the second half of the 19th century, the building was used by the War Department as a School of Musketry; by the end of the century it had reverted to its original purpose. The hotel has been designated a Grade II listed building by English Heritage. (Wiki)
In medieval times the village of Lavenham in Suffolk was one of the richest in England. It thrived on the wool trade in the 15th and 16th centuries when local merchants became very wealthy.
One the ways they could show their wealth was in the building of houses which .has resulted in the village having many half timbered properties that have stood the test of time over many centuries. There are over 200 grade 1 and grade 2 listed structures in the village today.
This house, known as Cordwainers, dates from circa 15th century and is located in the High Street. It is a timber frame and plastered building with grade 2 listed protection. In the past it was the One Bell Inn but is now a private house. I particularly like the different shapes and sizes of the timber beams, the colour of the plasterwork and the blocked up doorway on the right. A magnificent property!

The Lister Arms
We stayed in Malham back in September 2024.
We had our evening meal here at The Lister Arms, it was just a short walk from our B&B.
On our way to the pub some other guests at our B&B told us that they needed to go back to the B&B for their jackets as there was a nip in the air. We did likewise, and boy did we need them!
We ate outside at the rear of the pub.
There were half a dozen college / university students with laptops doing their work together; seemed like a team assignment. Anyway they stayed on task all the time we were there. Not sure I would have… in a pub!
It was a dog friendly pub, but we decided to stay outdoors… after all we were in beautiful Yarkshur!
The food was good, and the service was good too… even though the waitress told us that she’s a Blackburn Rovers fan (our local rivals 😎).

I'm no seaman (stop sniggering) and I don't really know my starboard from my port side when it comes to ships but one thing I do know is that this old rust bucket was definitely listing.
And for those who don't know what "listing" means I am about to educate you (or at least Wikipedia will).
"'Listing' is a nautical term to describe when a vessel takes on water and tilts to one side."
