Before there was a bridge or tunnel the only way to cross the Detroit River was by ferry. People, cars and trains needed to board a ferry boat to cross to Windsor or Detroit. This loading dock was used to put train freight cars onto the ferries bound for Detroit. Today this remnant can be seen on Windsorâs riverfront.

Die Villa HĂŒgel im Essener Stadtteil Bredeney wurde 1870â1873 von Alfred Krupp errichtet und ist das ehemalige Wohn- und ReprĂ€sentationshaus der Industriellenfamilie Krupp.
Die Villa verfĂŒgt auf ihren 8.100 Quadratmetern Wohn- und NutzflĂ€che ĂŒber 269 RĂ€ume und liegt â an prominenter Stelle ĂŒber dem Ruhrtal und dem Baldeneysee â im 28 Hektar groĂen zugehörigen HĂŒgelpark.
Heute ist die Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach-Stiftung EigentĂŒmerin des Anwesens. In der Villa HĂŒgel hat auch die Kulturstiftung Ruhr ihren Sitz. Im Haus finden regelmĂ€Ăig Veranstaltungen, z.B. Konzerte oder Ausstellungen, statt. Zahlreiche historische RĂ€ume sowie die Historische Ausstellung Krupp können zu den regulĂ€ren Ăffnungszeiten besichtigt werden.

Small forest of hardwoods keeps watch over Seminary Fen Scientific & Natural Area in Chanhassen/Chaska, Minnesota.
This was originally the site of the Mudcura Sanitarium, a world-famous spa that was opened in 1909 and operated until 1951.
Per MNOpedia, in 1951, the sanitarium was sold to the Black Franciscans, Order of Friars Minor Conventual, from Louisville, Kentucky. They named it Assumption Seminary and the site became linked with both the Colleges of St. Catherine and St. Thomas in St. Paul.
The Seminary remained in operation until 1970 and then sat vacant for many years, becoming a popular hangout for teens and other thrill seekers. The main building burned and was demolished in 1997.
The land is now home to the Minnesota DNR Seminary Fen Scientific & Natural Area that protects the rare calcareous fen that is now the star of the show here.

Ruta cuyo itinerario discurre en el entorno de las pistas de esquĂ nĂłrdico de Llanos del Hospital en el Valle de Benasque. La ruta tiene su inicio en el Plan del Hospital atravesando en su recorrido bellos parajes como el Plan de Estan y el Plan de la Besurta para llegar finalmente hasta el espectacular Plan dÂŽAiguallut con magnificas vistas al pico Aneto. Se trata de recorrer una parte del conocido como Camino dels Aranesos que originalmente unĂa el Plan del Hospital con el Valle de ArĂĄn.
El recorrido se divide en tres tramos, un primer tramo muy corto y sencillo hasta el Plan de l'Estan, un segundo tramo tambien muy sencillo hasta la Besurta y un tramo final algo mås exigente aunque accesible a cualquier senderista acostumbrado a la montaña hasta el Forau dŽAiguallut.
Route whose itinerary runs around the Nordic ski slopes of Llanos del Hospital in the Benasque Valley. The route begins in the Pllan del Hospital, passing through beautiful places such as the Plan de Estan and the Plan de la Besurta to finally reach the spectacular Plan d'Aiguallut with magnificent views of the Aneto peak. It involves walking through a part of what is known as the Camino dels Aranesos, which originally linked the Hospital Plan with the Aran Valley.
The route is divided into three sections, a first very short and easy section to Plan de l'Estan, a second section that is also very simple to Besurta and a final section that is somewhat more demanding although accessible to any hiker accustomed to the mountains until the Forau d'Aiguallut.
