The Canon lens beauty parade:
On the left, Miss 17-40L f4.0. She's a giant, the widest and heaviest of the contenders, plenty big up front, but as sweet and clean as they come, and she knows when to keep quiet. She's also been around the world a bit: most notably to Burma with awfulsara. How she got to Ireland is a long and complicated story, and one which I'll tell you some other time.
In the centre, Miss Sigma 18-50mm, f3.5-5.6. By comparison she's a svelte lightweight, a bit cheap and not so classy, rather given to loud noises at inappropriate moments, but has given good service. She's given me several Creamy moments, I can tell you. She has a very bad reputation, for which I blame Mr Fred Miranda and his acolytes 100%. She's got a heart, and coatings, of gold.
On the right, Miss 50mm f1.8 II. She's tacky and plasticky, she quite often misses the mark, but when the lights go down she's the only game in town. She loves working with people, especially children. And she was my first, and that has to be special ;-)
