Me with a cone on my head

Detail scan from a very small 1961 modern photography ad.

I used to waste endless hours sitting in coffeeshops. This is one of the few doodles from that tijme that survived 20 years of me repeatedly moving from place to place and 2 divorces, to be found by me now. The circle was made by me setting my coffee cup on the paper while yakking with someone.

One of my favorite anime is Kodocha and this is Sana a bit older.

Union carbide used this art for their ad in the October 7, 1922 Country Gentleman.

(2019) Flying High with a Black Swan

This is a redraw of an abstract loose blue pen drawing of a flying bird back in 1992.

Visualized an inverted black swan edition, then created a yin-yang mixed edition.

(1991 - 2019) Masses II

This is an remake based on an old abstract pen sketch done during my teen years in Hong Kong.

The new version kept all the eyes but added a shouting mouth, but note that there are no ear present, which is the most important thing missing in human interaction.

In 1991, I can't understand Cantonese well as an immigrant, so I was a mute unable to communicate with anyone outside of my family. So the original piece reflected my pessimistic view on humanity at the time.

In 2019, as an adult, I must say my view on humanity is about the same, but do have faith that truth, compassion, and love will prevail.

Just playing with edge detection in gimp

A line art illustration that was part of a series of cards with magnet attachments. The line art is created with a pigma micron.

great line art from a vintage children's book!

Last weekend my family and I visited my sister in Colorado for Thanksgiving. On the ride back I caught the drawing bug and did some sketches here.

I like how they turned out. I might do something with them in the near future.

These are some examples of black and white illustration created for a set of activity cards. The cards feature learning activities with educational or creative value that parents can play with their children.

Pigma Micron Pen on Vellum Bristol. 3.5 x 3.5 inches.

Sharing my "Forest Year" page of my first moleskine which is an entry for The Sketchbook Project 2011.

I drew the lineart using a felt tip pen and filled in the trunk and branches using a laundry pen. :D The foliage was made using small pieces of scrapbook paper folded into simple flower origami. <3

Let's spread the word and appreciation of our forests.

These are God-given gifts where even more good gifts come from. <3

P.S. You can see the bare lineart in the comments. :)

the original border line art for my Jack and the Beanstalk trading card. In the end there was just too much stuff going on and I had to edit it out. Bye bye chicken who lays the golden eggs, and golden harp of cool.
