Just playing again with a plug-in that I got today... it looks like a dot painting but it is supposed to be Line Art... Well, what do YOU GUYS think?

Photoshop PSD lineart how to make lineart.

Method

Open image and make 2 duplicate layers

Ctrl+Shft+U to both = greyscale

Turn original background OFF

Top layer: Ctrl+I (aye) = negative

Change Layer Properties for this layer to Color Dodge = makes it disappear

Filter/Other/Minimum and adjust radius

DONE!

Also for colored line image (see above):

Ctrl+E to Merge 2 b&w layers

Turn original color background layer back ON

Change Layer Properties to Luminosity (on merged layers only)

COOL.

Not what you'd usually see from me, but a neat line drawing I did on photoshop. I plan on finishing a roll of film this weekend at a pumpkin carving soirée, so new photos next week!

Testing the tile scanning behaviour of our new Leica widefield microscope. This image is 12 overlapping tiles stitched together showing human cells stained for actin (in inverted greyscale), DNA (blue) and a fluorescent protein (mcherry) targetted to the nucleus of some cells (red).

My team at work started a tradition two years ago by holding a dunk contest. The best part of it all is the hype prior to the actual contest. Posters, videos, smack talk, it's awesome.

The outlines were done with Photoshop's Pen Tool overtop a photo. I actually outlined the lines to create the varying widths... I'm sure there's better way to do it, but I'm not aware of it, lol. The style was inspired by GTA San Andreas, and just the whole vintage/retro look.

Line art - Black pigment fineliner in Moleskine large notebook (15mins)

Scanned - CanoScan LIDE 700F (5mins)

Colour and shading - Image processing software (45mins)

First time trying manga lineart, took me 2 hours to finish! Definitely a long process. Despite all the mistakes, the end result wasn't that bad :D
