Sam Insull's electric railway legacy in Chicago is indisputable, yet one of the lines he didn't own was the Aurora, Elgin & Fox River Electric Co. However, a portion of that line survives today as the Fox Valley Trolley Museum in South Elgin, IL, where one car ride examples of Insull's lines, such as the CNS&M #715, a 1926 Cincinnati Car Co. product. Here, its seen skirting the Fox River, just south of the car barn and depot.
When I passed by Richmond Costco today, I decided to drive around and explore places that I haven't been to. When I passed by the River Road, I discovered a small trail under the Canada Line which is pretty neat.
I always wanted to take a night shot of this bridge; it is great to come and check out some of the possible shooting spots.

The winner of the women's race was Dotsie Bausch of New Zealand. She left the peloton and grit her way to the finish line alone to win the Tour De White Rock Road Race.

Angkor Thom was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer empire. It was established in the late twelfth century by king Jayavarman VII. It covers an area of 9 km²

St Anne Line was born in Dunmow, in Essex. In her teens she became a Catholic and was disinherited by her family, and in 1585 she married another disinherited convert, Roger Line. Her husband was imprisoned for his faith and then sent into exile, leaving her destitute. She taught and embroidered and also kept house for priests. One day a large number of people were seen congregating at her house for Mass. She was arrested, tried, condemned to death, and hanged at Tyburn in London on 27 February 1601.

Last Sunday I was invited with to be a jury with another friend of mine for a photography competition held by the Kuala Langat Municipal Hall. Since we're in the neighborhood, we could not say no to visiting the Kelanang Beach, which also has a fisherman's jetty.
It's also an opportunity for me to use the Promote Controller :)

The Perisphere
I found a collection of old negatives taken during the photographer's trip to New York for the World's Fair of 1939-40. There are some great snapshots of some of the daily goings on, as well as images of some of the more iconic structures at the fair. They are a great glimpse into the last few calm moments before the storm of war changed the world forever. Enjoy!

Little girl yesterday, 3 years old and as articulate as many adults - she was telling Santa about the book she has about him and how she's glad he's found his boots now. Then she took hold of his hand and said (for Christmas Eve) "I'll leave a flower out for you, a pink flower, would you like that?" Then she gave Santa a hug. Just gorgeous.
Taking some old line work to try out a motion sequence. It's ended up looking a bit like lean Zaha Hadid architecture.

At the Offcial Launch of Steam Railmotor 93, the Great Western Socity, with help from Chiltren Train and FGW, provided a line of a 100 years of Mulitple Unit progression.
The units involved were;
1908 - Steam Railmotor
1951- Hawksworth Auto Trailer
1940 - Diesel Railcar
1960 - Bubble Car
1992 - Thames Turbo
2011 - Turbostar
