The line leader is a big deal in preschool. I have learned this important information from my four year old.

Strolled the boardwalk at Venice Beach with the family tonight, followed by another great dinner at C&O Trattoria ..... The "killer" garlic rolls were a big hit with my boys. :)
This is one of the many colorful murals scattered around Venice Beach painted by muralist Rip Cronk. www.rcronk.com/cronkweb/Home2.html
The Jim Morrison mural below, taken during the worldwide photowalk last month, is also by Cronk.
Enjoy your weekend!

The beautiful Paddington Elizabeth Line/Purple Train/Lizzy Line/Crossrail station is seen here ahead of the arrival of a Shenfield train off Westbourne Park sidings. Taking photos in central London is quite a different experience to out in the country!

Thanks for looking. I appreciate feedback!
Sam Insull's electric railway legacy in Chicago is indisputable, yet one of the lines he didn't own was the Aurora, Elgin & Fox River Electric Co. However, a portion of that line survives today as the Fox Valley Trolley Museum in South Elgin, IL, where one car ride examples of Insull's lines, such as the CNS&M #715, a 1926 Cincinnati Car Co. product. Here, its seen skirting the Fox River, just south of the car barn and depot.

Rosemary and I were just minding our own business strolling along a Devon lane near to home when this small flock of a dozen or so ewes came trotting around the bend ahead. They came to a stop about ten yards ahead of us and milled about a bit. No farm worker or dog in sight or sound. Just to our right (off camera) was an open field gate. I assumed (wrongly as it turned out) that they had escaped and I was considering a plan to get them back in (been there, done that before, got the t-shirt...really). We retraced our steps to allow these ladies to pass into the field without fearing us when, bounding up behind them came a familiar sheepdog with his handler and the sheep took themselves into the field. They were just being transferred it seems. Country life - there's nothing like it.
Sony Cyber-shot RX10 (the original!). By the way, the blurry bit on the left is a silage bale.
Sadly Wooton's (Tiger Line) commercial services are to be withdrawn after 23rd December 2011. One of the three routes concerned is the T2 Hemel Hempstead -Watford (with some journeys from and to Chesham). This ex-Ulsterbus Leyland Tiger is seen at Hemel Hempstead bus station.

Outbound and inbound Metro transit red line trains pass each other in Washington, DC's Brookland section while CSX's Q135 lumbers westbound with containers for the terminal in Ohio. The old brown and silver Metro trains are being replaced with new trains from Kawasaki which have an all silver with black ends look and a new stylized version of the old Metro logo on their flanks.

Atlantic Coast Line Float is seen in the yearly Festival Of States Parade that is held along Central Avenue route while heading west during this time period in Saint Petersburg, Florida, 1955. Was able to observe many of these parades, including this one while I was living in the downtown area. These parades are no longer held, but back in their day they were a big trade mark for the City of Saint Petersburg, plus it was a good way to advertise all of the local businesses, attractions, the city, along with bringing in high school bands from various states across the nation and their accompanying people to introduce them to the area. At this time the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad provided a float in the parade because the railroad still provided very good civilized transportation services to the area, and they did OK by adding the pretty young ladies to their float. Always did wonder who these young ladies may actually be, because they may have been daughters of local ACL officials? The vehicle that is hauling the float is interesting, but I don't recall what it actually is in respect to brand and model, but perhaps is a Willys? Use to dine in the Trade Winds Bar & Grill on a regular basis because it was a good restaurant. The historic Detroit Hotel is seen in the view.
Do not know the name of the photographer that captured this image on film. This is a modified and enhanced scan from an original slide in my collection.
