More of a culvert really. I’m not sure what the trees are. Possibly Hornbeams?

You could say this doesn't qualify as "street photography" and I would say that I really don't care. I enjoy shooting these photos and that's all that matters, really.

The Old St. John County Jail.

Built in 1891 it held prisoners until 1953. It was constructed by the Pauly Building and Manufacturing Co. of St. Louis, which would later build Alcatraz Prison in California along with several other jails throughout North America.

Design and construction: Engineer André Waterkeyn

The Atomium is a building in Brussels originally constructed for Expo '58, the 1958 Brussels World's Fair. Designed by the engineer André Waterkeyn and architects André and Jean Polak,[1] it stands 102 m (335 ft) tall. Its nine 18 m (59 ft) diameter stainless steel clad spheres are connected so that the whole forms the shape of a unit cell of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times.

Tubes connect the spheres along the 12 edges of the cube and all eight vertices to the centre. They enclose escalators and a lift to allow access to the five habitable spheres which contain exhibit halls and other public spaces. The top sphere provides a panoramic view of Brussels. CNN named it Europe's most bizarre building.

Conrail C40-8W 6081 was leading train Z413 westward on the B&O's Belt Line in Baltimore in a view taken from North Avenue in 1993.

At the time, Conrail was running over CSX tracks to avoid Amtrak's Northeast Corridor in the wake of the Ricky Gates fiasco.

Thanks for your visit, faves and comments, I appreciate that very much!

The McKinney Avenue Transit Authority operates historic heritage streetcars. The main stretch of the M-Line runs down McKinney Avenue in Dallas Texas. I saw this lovely woman on board one evening, and captured this image just as the light between high-rise buildings passed across her face. The timing was pure luck....her beauty was pure elegance.

The baby barn swallows are out of the nest and beginning their hunting lessons. They are all lined up on a utility wire and are supposed to be watching as their parents swoop and dive in search of insects.

This particular bunch seems to be more interested in the results of the hunt than they are in the technique. Between visits from Mom and Dad, they fidget and wiggle and seem to spat among themselves. But when a parent heads near, they are all business, raising their wings and opening their beaks wide in hopes of being the one to receive this morsel.

One of the more unusual vehicles to grace the B52 works service to the Omega Development Site north west of Warrington, was this former Brighton and Hove Mercedes Citaro, which operated the evening service on March 1st due to an acute vehicle shortage.

Owned by Gray Line, it was new to London General as MAL109 and worked for Go North East before heading to Brighton.

It is a great recycling process in the animal world, we can learn something from this. Nothing remains unexploited and waste does not exist in nature!
